This elderly woman pictured below received minor injuries Thursday night in St. Paul when police used tear gas and concussion grenades (according to eyewitness reports) to clear protesters from a Sears parking lot just blocks from the Xcell Center.
Protesters on the scene blamed the “heavy handed brutality” of the police for the woman’s injuries, but others blamed the presence of the protesters as the cause of the police action.
Unlike the first day of protests, this march was mostly bark (thankfully) and very little bite. After the police frightened the crowd into submission, they all sat down as told and put their hands on their heads to await arrest.
