CNN: It’s Not Racial Profiling If You’re Investigating White People

January 18, 2009

CNN is running a story promoting law enforcement profiling white people, supremacists specifically.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Hate crimes experts and law enforcement officials are closely watching white supremacists across the country as Barack Obama prepares next week to be sworn in as the first black president of the United States.

So far, there is no known organized effort to express opposition to Obama’s rise to the presidency other than a call by the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan for its members to wear black armbands as well as fly the U.S. flag upside down on Inauguration Day and Obama’s first full day in office.

Founding Bloggers strongly backs the efforts of law enforcement to profile threats based on race and other factors when appropriate. The threat of White supremacist falls under this category. They are a legitimate threat and it would be foolish to keep an eye on white supremacists who are not white.

Why is it any different when it comes to profiling the Jihadi threat? The only people that plot Jihad are devout Muslims, but profiling them is considered “islamophobic”. Is this a double standard?

From CNN, in 2002 during the Bush administration:

Airplane security: Terrorism prevention or racial profiling?

When it comes to Islamist supremacy, we have to consider if it is discrimination to profile Muslims. When it comes to the white supremacy, CNN doesn’t even bother to ask the question.

What about black supremacist groups, like the Nation of Islam, the New Black Panthers, United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors and the Nation of Yahweh? I don’t suppose they ever did anything illegal.

“They are a legitimate threat and it would be foolish to keep an eye on white supremacists who are not white.”

That would be true unless their name is Clayton Bigsby…
