Love the posters, especially Robbin’ Hood and Bailout: Chains You Can Believe it. Thanks for this post. It gives hope to those who still believe in freedom and personal responsibility.

Looks like a good turnout! Listening to Mancow on 890am before this started. He said he was heading over to join the tea party. Did anyone see him? Did he help rally the crowd? You got a shout out from channnel 2 news @ 11:00. They mentioned you were outside the studio windows. Wished they would have had some video, but Obama was on from NC.

I wanted to say first that I am so proud of those of you who were able to make it to the various tea parties. There wasn’t one close enough to me for me to be able to make it today, unfortunately. I notice several distinct differences between those of you in these pictures and those liberal protests we’ve all witnessed from time to time. 1. these were homeade signs=the people made them, no campaign generated signage. 2. peaceful, gentle people that are mad as hell and want to be heard. 3. no burning cars, no riot police needed…you get my drift. :-) Lastly, very little media. It seems when there is a lib protest, there may only be 15 people, but twice as many cameras. Very telling.

You made me proud today!! Thanks for sharing the photos that I’m sure the media will not show.

We need more of these tea parties all over this nation. We are quickly bleeding to death under his vision and need a tourniquet to stop Obama Hood.

Thank you for posting these photos. I have friends who went to the Chicago rally today; wish I could have been there myself. I love the homemade signs. It’s a cold and blustery day today so 200 is a good turnout. We need more tea parties, everywhere, let’s stop this mad rush to socialism before it’s too late.

  9. Stevan on February 27, 2009 4:53 pm

I was there today too. It was a great event and I have more pictures on my site. It’s not very often that protests are held in Chicago where the protestors are so orderly that the Chicago Police officers spend all their time talking on their cell phones.

Also, as soon as the protest was over, I went back to work – which I’m sure is true for 95% of the protestors there. We have to keep working hard to pay for what we’re protesting against.

I am so proud of all the folks who are the real Americans. To others stop drinking the juice, that is the obamanation juice. This man had a plan, speak smooth, make a few jokes you know get people to laugh and follow blindly behind him. People love to feel good as long as people are being fed crap, but it sounds good they follow. I knew during the compaign that this man was bad news. Everyone kept talking about how well he spoke. I would rather have a person who studders barely getting words out of their mouth as long as they spoke the truth. The world likes style with no substance. When I was younger I always went with what looked good, what sounded good but over the years you find out all that glitters ain’t gold. Unless America realizes that you can’t take the creator out of creation and integrity, honesty, compassion, goes a lot further than what sounds good or what looks good. God Bless our troops and May God teach America that he is still GOD and in control whether we humans agree or not.

Gee – I wonder how many of these people were protesting over the last eight years? The lot of you behave as if we have zero national debt or spending deficit. But NOW, after billions spent on international war, corporate tax breaks, and tax breaks favoring the wealthy, NOW these people are protesting?

Give me a break. This is the reason why I think a lot of these folks, and their champions, such as Michelle Malkin, are phonies.

    “Start stocking up folks…

Start stocking up for what exactly? I’ve been wondering why getting a box of 9mm is nearly impossible nowadays.

Baculus: every situation has a tipping point. The Democrats promised to “solve” the problem, and their solution is a non-starter. I don’t believe in Bush any more than I believe in the GOP right now, but what I do know is we’re definitely on the road to ruin, and I’ll be goddamned if I stay at home and armchair quarterback the whole thing as these people GIVE OUR TAX MONEY AWAY to undeserving assholes without a clue of fiscal responsibility.
Can you even fathom how much money they are spending? Can anyone even think of what kind of tangible assets that would buy? Not to mention that it was the government and its reckless policies that got us into this mess. Why trust them with anything? What are we paying for?

  20. Laura on February 27, 2009 6:22 pm

Long live the Free America that we conservatives love! The “ordinary” guy is the backbone of this great country, not the government. Obama is a charlatan who convinced a sea of lemmings to take a dive with him. Well, I refuse to take a dive with those morons. All of those present at the Tea Party did a fabulous job speaking for us all! Let the real fight begin – we need to take back this country before it’s too late. By the way, Michelle Malkin rules!! Anyone who knows anything about economics knows that tax cuts benefit the nation as a whole – that’s how money re-circulates throughout the economy…Can anyone say Econ 101?

Funny – this whole bailout thing started with those “fiscally conservative” republicans. I recall Bush on TV telling Americans how this was absolutely necessary, blah blah blah. The process was in motion before Obama took office – with the bailout for the banks, the auto industries… and how much would you like to bet that none of these “protesters” had so much as a WORD to say, when it was Bush doling out the money? But when a Democrat President does the same thing, suddenly it’s socialism. Yeah – sure it is, pal.

  32. Zanne on February 27, 2009 8:07 pm

It is not the War on Terror that put us into this mess , it’s the huge entitlement payments and the housing bubble courtesy of people like Barney Franks , Harry Reid , Nancy Pelosi and others that put us into this mess . Oh btw , do you understand why we buy stuff made from China , it has something to do with taxes as well as unions . Read about it sometime .

I was there — it was great! Very respectful people and normal looking — my son came over at his lunch break — other son too busy with work to take a break, but with us in spirit. That’s the problem for conservatives — they work so they don’t have time to demonstrate unless they are mothers with children or retirees.

The Silent Majority (Minority now?) better stop being silent while we still have free speech (unless that is also ended in the fine print of the stimulus bill).

The Un-Fairness Doctrine (affecting only conservative talk radio and not the Leftist NPR or MSM) may make us unable to learn what is being done to us and enable us to rally against it.

Wake up America; you bought a smooth-talking Communist for a leader and a Congress that will abet his plans for ending our country as we knew it.

I think all 3 conservatives from Chicago came. There were a lot of people from outside of Chicago, including myself. I went to Chicago all the way from Ohio just for this event alone. I can tell you that people were plenty pissed at the Republicans as well as the Democrats. I’m really past the point of who’s doing it. I think it will be too late by the time 2010 rolls around. I mean, who wants to be the elected official to reverse all the new entitlement programs? If you hold one of these at the same place every Friday noon (predictable – so it can grow in a measureable way) thousands more like me will show up. I think that conservative politicians and talk show hosts will want to show up. But it has to be predictable and the weekly schedule needs to be in every media account of the protest.

Now all of the sudden that His Highness Hussein is the praetorian president, and his Obamunist Blue Team are the purveyors of the corporate-socialism, it’s finally time for serious grassroots activism? LOL… This is too funny. You know, if these protests were actually filled with people who had something to protest, I would be in support. But look who the supporters are — BABY BOOMERS!? The generation that took a rich and good America and then squandered and raped its resources?! Thank GOD a new generation has taken the reigns and is getting this country on the right track again.

Our president has been in office for a month and look at all of you, still bitter that your status quo has been interrupted. Still bitter that 65% of the country voted for a better America while you clung to the same ideologies that helped sink this country.

How dare any of you attack our president in his FIRST MONTH during such difficult economic and war times. Get with the 65% that sees a better future for this country and SUPPORT YOUR PRESIDENT! Give him his term to do what 65% of America thinks is right. If he proves to be wrong, the majority will then elect a new president.

Go home and get a job.

  53. Lorna Gladstone on February 28, 2009 11:36 am

Obama is the MOST dangerous threat our country has ever faced. Never mind the terrorists, disease or anything else. Every single time that man opens his mouth the market fall further. He should be muzzled. He is a menace to this country and if he contnues on his declared path he will ultimately destroy this country and all that it stands for. Maybe that is his intent.

  54. CrankyBolt on February 28, 2009 12:08 pm

So, what’s with all the anti socialism? Police department, post office, fireman, libraries, schools…

All Socialist. Our country was founded on a public socialist base with a capitalistic private enterprise.

Anybody holding an anti socialist sign looks like a complete and utter moron who doesn’t understand what the hell the term actually means and that our country is full of socialist institutions that make every day life here possible.

  55. Cranky get a grip on February 28, 2009 12:43 pm

Cranky, if you know anything then you MUST know that the things you have just listed are taxed at the LOCAL level. Hence, not socialism. Socialism specifically calls for FEDERAL taxation. Got it? Socialism is a NATIONAL economy not a LOCAL one. Please stop trying to rationalize what this is all about…

  57. WJ on February 28, 2009 2:33 pm

Obama’s only been in office a month???

His party’s been ripping us a new hole for the LAST 3 YEARS!

You know, the democrat kegger party that started with Pelosi and Reid, which is when the market leveled off, then summarily tanked thereafter.

    Yeah, that one.

But let’s let Obama prove me and every single economist wrong. Let Bush’s tax cut expire which is what he just announced last week, then raise them another 20% more. Then toss in an increase in OASDI taxes, medicaid increases, raise min wage to offset that *snicker*, raise personal income taxes, reduce deductions, then redistribute the money according to voting demographics.

I hope to HIGH HELL every business gets TFO out of this country while they can and let it go straight to the hell it deserves along with all the people that voted for this POS.

Maybe then america can challenge Haiti or Liberia to a new contest for new GDP lows.

Thanks you democrats and everyone else on their farm, all you lackeys who voted for them. You just enslaved our grandkids.

    Enjoy.

  58. HeatherRadish on February 28, 2009 3:41 pm

“Go home and get a job”?? Sweet merciful Barack, that’s ignorant.

I had a job, until Obama started talking about his plans to destroy America’s businesses. I was laid off within the week. Had dinner with some colleagues last night–more layoffs are coming down the pike.

Couldn’t get to the party yesterday, but I’m in for the next one.

  59. Hornady on February 28, 2009 6:45 pm

If you’ll remember correctly, it was Reid, Pelosi, the rest of the demoRATS, AND BUSH that begged the congressional republicans to vote for the first stimulus. You won’t see any conservatives defend Bush’s spending.

Obama has been in office for 30 days, and he is the cause of all our ill wills.

Let’s forgo compassion and altruism, and live in a world where everyone has to fight tooth and nail to survive. Help no one! Only the strong survive!

Conservatism has become some sort of right wing religion. Why do you think we need to have gatherings like CPAC, where we listen to our bishops and cardinals rally us to our cause. Most democrats are secure enough in their beliefs that they don’t need to turn into a radio station to hear someone spout off about how wrong the other side is, or how much they want the country to fail.

You know what would make my year? If I could visit one conservative blog where someone left an insightful, intelligent and constructive comment. Everything is a knock at Obama, or a knock at democrats, or a knock at congress. There is never an idea presented on what would be a better alternative, other than “Less spending! Smaller government!”. Why do you think McCain lost the election? He didn’t present ONE original idea during the entire campaign.

  63. Joe The Pizza Boy on February 28, 2009 7:03 pm

Oh, and the most hypocritical thing of it all? George Bush presided over one of the largest increases in the size of government, and spending, in history. Did the conservative blogs light up calling for his head?

  64. Joe The Pizza Boy on February 28, 2009 7:08 pm

Sorry to make another comment, but I just noticed Lornas, and I had to respond.

I love when people talk about Obama wanting to destroy the country. It’s the most ignorant, xenophobic statements that a human being could possibly make.

Let me ask you something, Lorna. I don’t know if you live in the 21st century, but we as Americans have been living beyond our means, with an outdated economic system. We finally have someone who comes to power who is honest with us, who wants to cut out the cancerous growths from the way we operate, and set us up to operate successfully in this new millennium, and you say he is destroying the country. No, he is telling the country what the truth is, and the truth hurts.

So if you want, we can continue to bury our heads in the sand, and the stock market can go back up, but you know what? Sooner rather than later the shit will really hit the fan, and the stock market will be trading at 200 points, rather than 7000 points.

  67. WootWootWoot on March 1, 2009 1:52 am

1st- I was at the Chicago tea party and I am not a baby boomer. There were a lot of young people there actually.
2nd- I do not know one conservative who was happy with George Bush’s passage of TARP. Nor did we like McCain much, but he was a better choice than BHO.
3rd- Conservatism a “religious” movement? hahhahhahaha LMAO. That’s funny. Let’s look left shall we – at the media proclaimed “Messiah.”

Obviously those who still strongly support our POTUS have no money invested for their retirement, nor do they have children with health problems that really on specialists for their care. You probably rent and do not own a home or are in or near foreclosure. Nor do you have a driver’s license because if you did, a simple trip to one of those facilities would show you how incredibly inefficient government employed workers can sometimes be. Or – you already are a gov’t employed worker…

So maybe you liberals need to think of others besides your entitled, governemnt hand-out taker selves for once. I had hoped that Obama would get into office and surround himself with good intelligent people but he has picked tax-cheating, extremists who scare me more than he does. So good luck to you all. Let me know how things are for you in a year. Then maybe your dialog will be more intelligent and knowledgable than what I have read here.

Oh, and the tea party rocked! Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for the great pictures and videos. The citizens of the US need to fight for their libery and freedom. Let our voices be continue to be heard!

I think it’s funny that WootWoot is talking about intelligence, when he/she:

    1. Cannot construct a coherent sentence.
    2. Is making ridiculous, baseless and down right offensive accusations about large groups of people.
    3. Has worse grammar than my 10 year old niece.

I’m still waiting on one coherent, constructive argument from a right winger.

Below is an outline of ideas that should be a part of our national Tea Party Revolution, and these cost little or nothing to do, but they do represent a sign of solidarity.

    1. For those of you who live in D.C., or who are traveling to D.C., visit the “Newseum” with a plan in mind. They have a large area set up to amuse the public where you (alone or with others) can be videotaped playing the role of a reporter (http://www.newseum.org/news/video_blogs/video.aspx?item=SONY080430&style=f). You get to keep the video, and perhaps most importantly, you can download your video to the Newseum web site for the public to view! Here’s a chance for Tea Party patriots to use a slick set up to say what the mainstream media chooses to ignore! For those who can’t get to D.C., there’s always Youtube.com. Create your own “reporting” video of Tea Party events, or report about the mainstream media.

    2. If Tea Party patriots can prove that Obama was not born in the US, as research by WND suggests, everything Obama has signed will be illegal, including the Stimulus Bill! Therefore, as part of our Tea Party Revolution, we must demand that Obama release his original birth certificate to the nation. WND has started a petition. This should be more widely circulated during the Tea Party Revolution. We need to force the media to talk about this aspect of our Revolution. Give everyone you know the link: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=81550

    2. On the day that Obama signs his budget, after it has been approved by Congress, Tea Party patriots should wear black. In fact, we may want to wear black every time Obama signs any major bill approved by our miserable Congress, because the legislation won’t be good for our country. By wearing black, we’re letting Obama, Congress, and the media know how much we disapprove of their ideas.

    3. Use On-This-Day.com – http://www.on-this-day.com/onthisday/thedays/dayselect-misc.htm – to select meaningful days for joint national activities. For example, On March 7, 1933, the board game “Monopoly” was invented. Obama and Congress are playing a wild game of Monopoly with our money, and our childrens’ money. Therefore, this coming Saturday, March 7th, every Tea Party patriot could post envelopes to Obama and their Congressman containing either a piece of Monopoly money, or perhaps a photocopy of a dollar bill, accompanied by your handwritten outrage. Just imagine what you could say on that piece of paper! Go to http://www.house.gov, http://www.senate.gov, and http://www.whitehouse.gov to get mailing addresses. Inundate their office mail boxes!! At the same time, why not insert a printed copy of this picture portraying Obama, Pelosi and Reid as “The Three Stooges” – http://www.conservativeoldhippie.com/photos/data/560/3-stooges.jpg

First, of all, Joe the Pizza Boy, if you don’t know the meaning of a word, it’s better not to use it. The word “xenophobia” denotes an unreasoning fear of foreigners. Criticizing Obama is not “xenophobic.” Unfortunately, Obama is not a foreigner. Turn off the television, Joe; read more; your vocabulary will increase and you will be less likely to make such a fool of yourself in public.

Another thing, Joe the PB, Bush was in fact severely excoriated (that means criticized) by conservative commentators for the pre-Obama bailouts. He continues to be held accountable for opening the door to the massive government-increase bill which the Democrats are ramming through Congress.

    Read, Joe. Learn.

Oh, one more thing: The phrase “cannot construct a coherent sentence” is not itself a coherent sentence.

  71. Joe The Pizza Boy on March 2, 2009 2:29 pm

Do they really believe politics is dogmatic religion? They must. And if so, they’re hopeless. Can you imagine going to such a liberal gathering in 1985, after Fritz Mondale had his head handed to him by Ronald Reagan, and listening to the de facto leader of US liberalism talking this way, saying that, “Liberalism is what it is and it is forever. It’s not something you can bend and shape and flake and form”? If you were a conservative, you would have chortled and taken comfort in the evidence that the opposition was going to be spending a lot more time in the woods before the light of reality dawned upon their furrowed faces

  72. Harry Paratestes on March 2, 2009 8:27 pm

Awesome. It was amazing to see tens of people descend upon Chicago like that.

  73. Doug on March 10, 2009 10:30 pm

OH yeah and the leftist nut “joe the pizza guy” probably the same nut seen on all the news videos as screaming for his annointed one, while wearing his “Obama is god” shirt. Like all liberals, just ignore the rantings in here of liberals like this one, they only show their true “snakelike” forms. The bible warns us all of these children of satan, that decieve, lie and twist facts. I’m sure he/she/it will leave another comment, cause that’s what their kind do!

  74. joe on March 21, 2009 12:09 pm

“Chains we can believe in” BRILLIANT!

VIVA LIBERTY!! OBAMA’s socialism has awakened the masses to the wonderful Founding of our Nation.

    Now lets protect it!

  75. joe on March 21, 2009 12:24 pm

Joe the Pizza Boy, you have a way with words. If you only had some knowledge to go with it, you might be a productive member of our republic. I suggest reading “Crash Proof” and educating yourself on what is really going on. Fiscally and monetarily speaking, Obama is Bush on steroids. Washington is printing money like never before. Dummies like you don’t understand that Washington buys votes with spending and by pumping debt into the economy AND that this is actually a HUGE tax on EVERYONE, not just those evil rich people that you blame for being a 40-year old pizza boy. The 13 dollars a month that Obama gave you will not come close to covering the increase in gas prices (hidden inflation) and declining purchasing power (more inflation!) that Obama’s printing of TRILLIONS of dollars will undoubtedly create. Like it or not, government spending and artificially low interest rates caused this crisis, not capitalism or the free market. I regret that this reality does not fit your ignorant, snarky, Daily Show-inspired worldview. It is sad that you immediately reach for an ad hominem attack based on Obama’s pigment. Maybe if your mental disorder (liberalism) was cured, you could lift the veil of Political Correctness that is destroying your otherwise rational brain.

I have paid taxes and all my family has for at least 67 years and I have never benefited from anything from the gov except SS which I gratefully take/ as SS will be bankrupt for my children and grandchildren who will never have a glimpse of the wonderful imperfect country I once knew. What a wonderful experience to watch this Tea Party and I am going to find news of one in Orange County, CA. My family will all show up as well as some friends. Time not to sit back anymore. My votes never counts and my emails to the Congress only get form letter replies. Some sites say “Busy, please try later”. I hope they are “busy” with Tea Baggers.

  77. Jack Wrangler on April 10, 2009 1:43 pm

How dare Obama raise taxes back to the same level they were in 2000, back during all that prosperity and before Bush moved all the wealth to the top 1% of the country. this has to be the single greatest outrage in the history of America–beyond the needless war, the torturing, the lying, the complete lack of oversight in the financial system. Hoorah for the Republican ostriches!

  78. Sandy on April 15, 2009 7:07 pm

Today is TEA PARTY day and I’ve seen very little news coverage.. Are we surprised? I just can’t believe how many stupid voters there are out there that just don’t get it. Also, as much as it is inappropriate to add a mustache to Obama’s photo, the similarities between his voter base and Hitler’s is uncanny. Get a clue America, this is how Hitler started. Here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia on Hitler’s rise to power: Hitler rose to a place of prominence in the early years of the party (1919 – 1923) largely as a result of his considerable skills in oratory, organization and promotion.

Mancow Muller, God Bless America psychos, Obama is a Commie/Socialist/AntiChrist/Muslim…..yeah, a great bunch. More nuts than a bag of nuts.

Mancow Muller is a pawn hannity wannabee failure of a radio host.

Where were you wingnuts 6 years ago? Watching American Idol? Laughing at the burning bodies of innocent people in Iraq?

Lemmings, all. FAUX news and Pills Limbaugh tell you to jump, and you do.

And I don’t support Obama’s policies, as I didn’t Bush’s. If you helped us 6 years ago this wouldn’t be happening.

Let’s see, BushCo spends trillions on an illegal and immoral war, makes his banking buddies and corporate buddies rich, makes the military-industrial comples billions, promotes things that we aren’t supposed to promote (torture, starting illegal wars against people who were never a threat, etc.) and NOW you wake up?

And I thought FAUX News always made protestors out to be anti-american, dirty hippies! Hmmmmmmmmmm………fair and balanced?

    Nope.

I don’t know what it is going to take to get a majority of Americans to wake up and then stand up and say that they have had enough of a lying, cheating two party government that is always trying to blame the other party for all of our problems. I applaud those that stood up in Chicago and I believe that this should be taking place in every city, town or village in this country.

I first recognized our government lying when I was only 19 and in Viet Nam. Our unit reported 3 Viet Cong killed. The military Stars & Stripes newspaper reported that we killed 30. The next week we reported 2 and S&S reported 20. These were not typing or clerical errors, they were intentional lies to the American people to try to make the Americans think that there was great progress being made in eliminating the VC.

I got a kick out of Obama’s memorial day speech when he said that when our military people return home they would be rewarded as they deserve. Apparently he does not know how twisted the GI benefits program has become.

The government advertises rewarding GI benefits to try to get our young people to join the military. Money for school and no down to GI’s for housing. What they don’t tell you is that they changed the rules for using the school benefits. WWII and Korean vets could draw from their school fund if they decided to go back to school 30 years or more after getting out of the service. Viet Nam vets had to use their fund within 10 years or loose it.

When I started going to school I received two checks and then the checks stopped coming. I went to the Vets office at school and they said that I was receiving my checks and that I was cashing them. I argued that I was not receiving them. After weeks of arguing with them they finally produced cancelled checks that had my forged signatures on the back. They never reimbursed me and my benefits ran out.

No down to GI for home loans? What a Joke. I got a city appraiser to appraise the first house I wanted to buy. They were asking $30,000 and the house appraised at $60,000. I took the appraisal to the GI office and they told me that I could not use a city appraiser, I had to use a GI appraiser. He appraised the house at $28,000 forcing me to come up with a down payment. They pulled this same thing on both of my veteran brother in laws. They also do not tell you that you can get lower interest rates from non GI loans.

I am sick and tired of being lied to by this government. I am sick and tired of this government telling me that I have to bail out AIG, the banks and now the auto industry. All of these industries have executives that have been pulling off huge multi-million dollar salaries for many, many years. There should be a law that publicly owned company executive salaries/ bonuses can not exceed a certain percentage of the company profits. If there is no profit, there is no salary and certainly not any bonuses. Bonuses are paid out and the shareholders get screwed. Most hard working Americans could retire on one year of these executive salaries.

It takes a lot of money to get elected to public office and the banks, insurance companies and automobile manufacturers are contributors to politicians campaigns. Politicians will say what ever they need to say to get elected but once elected the truth comes out. You the people need to bail out my campaign fund contributors or your country will collapse.

If there is a tea party close to where live I will attend it and the next and the next until change really takes place instead of it being a campaign slogan.

where were you lemmings when that fratboy with IQ of an ameba ran up trillions in deficits to fund tax cuts to the top bracket and a pointless, endless war? stop yelling talking points comprised of words you don’t even comprehend and grow a brain.. i don’t know why i’m waisting my time on this, you’re hopeless

in the original boston tea party… the goers dressed as indians to help hide their true identity.

the protested as charlatans, just as these idiots are doing.

    fiscally conservative?

whose great idea was it to start a fu¢king war we couldn’t afford?

seems funny that people want a huge military to protect us from foreign and domestic terrorists…but can’t find the compassion to actually protect our own citizens from going broke if you become sick or ill.

where is the christian right in regards to health care.

“no! you can not abort the fetus, but to hell with you if you think we should care for it after it’s born. just let it suffer in misery unless you can afford health care…”

you people need to really read the bible.

jesus was pro-health care for all… he didn’t charge the blind to make them see… or charge the lame and make them walk.

you idiots are just that. IDIOTS.

go read the bible…..and learn from it.

help the poor and suffering….it’s in there.
