Here are our images from the Chicago Tea Party, Chicago chapter. Approximately 200 or more people braved the 25 degree cold and wind in Chicago. Video will follow this evening:
UPDATE: Here is our short video of the protest. Warning – Strong Language at 1:22

At the rally point, Daley Plaza.

NPR was there. We’ll keep an ear out for their report.

On the march to Michigan Avenue:

Sam Adams traveled through time, and from Boston, to join the neo-tea party.

On the Michigan Avenue Bridge

Some local media. We’ll keep an eye out for their reports. UPDATE: Fox report available here.
Outside Tribune Tower and NBC studios:

[editorial note - Founding Bloggers is against signs like the one above on the left, depicting President Obama with a Hitler mustache. It was undignified when it was done to President Bush and it is unhealthy now.]

John Ruberry, Marathon Pundit. We have a video interview with him and others. Coming soon.

UPDATE: St Louis Tea Party pictures are up at Gateway Pundit.
1,500 protesters braved the cold and wind today at the St. Louis Arch for the anti-Spendulus rally.
Michelle Malkin is collecting a Tea Party Photo Album.
Here is another fantastic set of Chicago pics.
And here is yet another great set of shots from the rally.

Finally, a protest were I agree with 99% of the signs.
Big Goverment is the PROBLEM not the SOLUTION.
Love the posters, especially Robbin’ Hood and Bailout: Chains You Can Believe it. Thanks for this post. It gives hope to those who still believe in freedom and personal responsibility.
Looks like a good turnout! Listening to Mancow on 890am before this started. He said he was heading over to join the tea party. Did anyone see him? Did he help rally the crowd? You got a shout out from channnel 2 news @ 11:00. They mentioned you were outside the studio windows. Wished they would have had some video, but Obama was on from NC.
I wanted to say first that I am so proud of those of you who were able to make it to the various tea parties. There wasn’t one close enough to me for me to be able to make it today, unfortunately. I notice several distinct differences between those of you in these pictures and those liberal protests we’ve all witnessed from time to time. 1. these were homeade signs=the people made them, no campaign generated signage. 2. peaceful, gentle people that are mad as hell and want to be heard. 3. no burning cars, no riot police needed…you get my drift. :-) Lastly, very little media. It seems when there is a lib protest, there may only be 15 people, but twice as many cameras. Very telling.
You made me proud today!! Thanks for sharing the photos that I’m sure the media will not show.
We need more of these tea parties all over this nation. We are quickly bleeding to death under his vision and need a tourniquet to stop Obama Hood.
So in other words you guys would have a tea party for the British.
Thank you for posting these photos. I have friends who went to the Chicago rally today; wish I could have been there myself. I love the homemade signs. It’s a cold and blustery day today so 200 is a good turnout. We need more tea parties, everywhere, let’s stop this mad rush to socialism before it’s too late.
I was there today too. It was a great event and I have more pictures on my site. It’s not very often that protests are held in Chicago where the protestors are so orderly that the Chicago Police officers spend all their time talking on their cell phones.
Also, as soon as the protest was over, I went back to work – which I’m sure is true for 95% of the protestors there. We have to keep working hard to pay for what we’re protesting against.
I am so proud of all the folks who are the real Americans. To others stop drinking the juice, that is the obamanation juice. This man had a plan, speak smooth, make a few jokes you know get people to laugh and follow blindly behind him. People love to feel good as long as people are being fed crap, but it sounds good they follow. I knew during the compaign that this man was bad news. Everyone kept talking about how well he spoke. I would rather have a person who studders barely getting words out of their mouth as long as they spoke the truth. The world likes style with no substance. When I was younger I always went with what looked good, what sounded good but over the years you find out all that glitters ain’t gold. Unless America realizes that you can’t take the creator out of creation and integrity, honesty, compassion, goes a lot further than what sounds good or what looks good. God Bless our troops and May God teach America that he is still GOD and in control whether we humans agree or not.
Outstanding post!!! Great Pictures!!!!
Chains you can believe in!!!!
Loved that!!!
I wish I could have driven home today and been a part of this protest. I participated in the Springfield, Missouri version. We had about 300 people. Thanks to everyone in Chicago who showed up to fight for our freedoms. The revolution is just beginning. Be prepared for the fight.
Great post! I’ve linked to you from my picture page of the tea parties!
[...] from the Chicago Tea Party Check out the rest. Seems not everyone is in love with The One’s plan, eh? [...]
I’m proud of those who could make it. There will be another 4-6 thousand of us in Springfield March 11 for IGOLD
Start stocking up folks…
Canned Food, Bottled Water, 556/45
Gee – I wonder how many of these people were protesting over the last eight years? The lot of you behave as if we have zero national debt or spending deficit. But NOW, after billions spent on international war, corporate tax breaks, and tax breaks favoring the wealthy, NOW these people are protesting?
Give me a break. This is the reason why I think a lot of these folks, and their champions, such as Michelle Malkin, are phonies.
Great signs/ Great people. Thank you from Arizona.
Don’t any of these people have jobs to go to? Dirty hippies.
“Start stocking up folks…
Canned Food, Bottled Water, 556/45″
Start stocking up for what exactly? I’ve been wondering why getting a box of 9mm is nearly impossible nowadays.
Baculus: every situation has a tipping point. The Democrats promised to “solve” the problem, and their solution is a non-starter. I don’t believe in Bush any more than I believe in the GOP right now, but what I do know is we’re definitely on the road to ruin, and I’ll be goddamned if I stay at home and armchair quarterback the whole thing as these people GIVE OUR TAX MONEY AWAY to undeserving assholes without a clue of fiscal responsibility.
Can you even fathom how much money they are spending? Can anyone even think of what kind of tangible assets that would buy? Not to mention that it was the government and its reckless policies that got us into this mess. Why trust them with anything? What are we paying for?
Long live the Free America that we conservatives love! The “ordinary” guy is the backbone of this great country, not the government. Obama is a charlatan who convinced a sea of lemmings to take a dive with him. Well, I refuse to take a dive with those morons. All of those present at the Tea Party did a fabulous job speaking for us all! Let the real fight begin – we need to take back this country before it’s too late. By the way, Michelle Malkin rules!! Anyone who knows anything about economics knows that tax cuts benefit the nation as a whole – that’s how money re-circulates throughout the economy…Can anyone say Econ 101?
I had given up hope for Chicago, but it’s nice to see some sanity up there.
God Bless You Patriots!!!
Great Showing!
Great job today in Chicago! Congrats to a great job!
Wisconsin might be having one on tax day…stay tuned (at the capital)

very good pictures.
any estimates on the turnout???
Funny – this whole bailout thing started with those “fiscally conservative” republicans. I recall Bush on TV telling Americans how this was absolutely necessary, blah blah blah. The process was in motion before Obama took office – with the bailout for the banks, the auto industries… and how much would you like to bet that none of these “protesters” had so much as a WORD to say, when it was Bush doling out the money? But when a Democrat President does the same thing, suddenly it’s socialism. Yeah – sure it is, pal.
It is not the War on Terror that put us into this mess , it’s the huge entitlement payments and the housing bubble courtesy of people like Barney Franks , Harry Reid , Nancy Pelosi and others that put us into this mess . Oh btw , do you understand why we buy stuff made from China , it has something to do with taxes as well as unions . Read about it sometime .
Lots of Ayn Rand signs, Reagan quotes and references to socialism. Talk about a blast from the past.
Viva 1980!
Gah.

I was there — it was great! Very respectful people and normal looking — my son came over at his lunch break — other son too busy with work to take a break, but with us in spirit. That’s the problem for conservatives — they work so they don’t have time to demonstrate unless they are mothers with children or retirees.
The Silent Majority (Minority now?) better stop being silent while we still have free speech (unless that is also ended in the fine print of the stimulus bill).
The Un-Fairness Doctrine (affecting only conservative talk radio and not the Leftist NPR or MSM) may make us unable to learn what is being done to us and enable us to rally against it.
Wake up America; you bought a smooth-talking Communist for a leader and a Congress that will abet his plans for ending our country as we knew it.
“and how much would you like to bet that none of these “protesters” had so much as a WORD to say, when it was Bush doling out the money? But when a Democrat President does the same thing, suddenly it’s socialism. Yeah – sure it is, pal.”
Sorry to disappoint, many did.
Next straw man, pal.
I think all 3 conservatives from Chicago came. There were a lot of people from outside of Chicago, including myself. You know the handout crowd of libs would have never gotten out in this cold to protest. I was pleased to see Chicago’s finest were very cordial. I’m sure they aren’t used to peaceful protests.
I was there too! It was great. I would estimate about 400. NPR said 300, they wrote a very short article on it and said we were chanting “Dump the tea.” I don’t recall that. I recall chanting SOCIALISM SUCKS!!! (which my 3-yr-old has picked up on LOL) I have more photos on my site too if you want to see more! http://www.intolerantfox.com
I went to Chicago all the way from Ohio just for this event alone. I can tell you that people were plenty pissed at the Republicans as well as the Democrats. I’m really past the point of who’s doing it. I think it will be too late by the time 2010 rolls around. I mean, who wants to be the elected official to reverse all the new entitlement programs? I wouldn’t mind being the sacrificial lamb.
Thank You Everyone, I wish I could have been there. I live to far away but hope to attend one in future. God Bless our Country, God Bless our Troops.

We need more of these Tea Parties in every state. Plus we need online petitions to sign , pictures of tea bags sent to all members of Congress, and Obama . More signs in each state should be posted plus You Tube videos advertised.
Nice work!
Good on all the stalwart protesters and the photographer out in the cold!
Great post!

Damn…. I live in Chicago… downtown too… If I had known about this I would have joined in.
Mancow’s statement this morning on WLS was the first I heard of the Party. Had I know a bit earlier, I and my wife would have come in from St Charles, IL.
If you hold one of these at the same place every Friday noon (predictable – so it can grow in a measureable way) thousands more like me will show up. I think that conservative politicians and talk show hosts will want to show up. But it has to be predictable and the weekly schedule needs to be in every media account of the protest.

Where were all of the born-again budget conservatives when King George W. and his bipartisan plunderers were pushing through the first Wall Street Welfare Whore ‘bailout’ and the size of government was tripled? Now all of the sudden that His Highness Hussein is the praetorian president, and his Obamunist Blue Team are the purveyors of the corporate-socialism, it’s finally time for serious grassroots activism? Better late than never I guess.
Time to hang up the fake left-right paradigm of the War Party folks. It’s all there to control you, two sides of the same coin.
No Bailouts. Stop the Porkulous! Count me in!
JKap:
Get over it. Bush is gone. We are discussing the record breaking nonsense of this current WH occupant.
It’s about time too, that conservatives finally stopped sitting idly by while we are bashed and bad mouthed.
It’s time to stand up. Stop tolerating the berating comments, stop tolerating the dismissing of our opinions.
What goes around, comes around.
