[via Atlas Shrugs] On Thursday March, 5th an estimated 300 Muslims rallied in support of freedom, Israel and the US as they celebrated the International Criminal Court (ICC) decision to indict President Omar Al Bashir of Sudan.
While this might be the first time this many Muslims have ever gathered to show support for democracy and freedom, the real kicker of this story is where they were rallying.
These Muslims are Darfur refugees who fled the Arab Jihad that has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. They were rallying in support of Israel and the US from the only country in the region that would take them in, Israel.
Did you get that? Muslims rally in support of Israel from inside of Israel. No wonder this has been all over the international media since it happened.
It’s just too bad that at the same time Israel is demonstrating its respect for human rights by taking in these refugees, the ICC is threatening to investigate Israel for war crimes in Gaza.
Wow. A comforting demonstration that will lead to additional ones with any luck. Even if there aren’t any more like it, it does give me some encouragement. Since George Clooney’s adopted cause is Darfur, I’m sure he’d like to see this. Comments by him would be even better.

Drudge Potato Al, why do you need celebrity validation of this event? Who cares if Clooney has now made Darfur his new pet? Where was he all the time when genocide by rape and wholesale slaughter was occurring? Surely, he must have heard? Zeus must have been busy with the cause of the moment. I guess now that he has descended from Olympus to condescend to the Darfurians, we ought to be gratified. All hail Clooney, the wise, the just, the magnificent who gives 30 seconds to tell us what we all knew was happening without him.

It is really refreshing to see some grateful Muslims for a change. I am tired of the minority of Muslims that preach the gospel of hatethy neighbor & kill him, getting all of the press. I know lots of Muslims that are finedecent human beings. They would give you the shirt off of their back. They just aren’t very interesting. I disagree with their religion, but that does not make them bad people. I just find it unusual for the very biased media to report on some peaceful Muslims telling the world how grateful they are that a Jewish nation took in some human beings from a religion that usually hates them & wishes for their destruction.
300 people inside Israel? Of course, the violence that has been fomented in Africa has NOTHING to do with the need of the Israel/U.S.A. military cabal for resources. The Africans whittled their weapons out of trees. The history of the American and Israel plunder of Africa is published and republished. Get online and do some research.

My phrasing regarding Clooney could have been a tad clearer. I mentioned him because while it did appear that he may have been using Darfur as a club to beat President Bush with, he’s continuing to press Darfur as an issue with the current administration. There was a story a few weeks ago how he had a private meeting with President Obama and Vice President Biden and the topic was Darfur. I also mentioned him because of the potential Catch 22 scenario that resulted from the Darfur protest by Muslims inside Israel and why there has been no international coverage of the event. I couldn’t state outright that Clooney would dodge discussing this because of his dislike for Israel since I don’t know what his view of Israel is in regards to the Palestinians. That’s why I thought his opinion would be interesting as well as the likelyhood that he doesn’t even know the protest occurred due to lack of coverage.
I appreciate your comments because while I really enjoy reading the pieces that get posted on Founding Bloggers, my grasp of English and the sentence structure of my comments definitely need further refinement.
I can’t speak for Drudge Potato Al, but I don’t think that he was suggesting that somehow a celebrity would lend this rally validity.
Like it or not, Clooney draws eyeballs. The event is valid with or without him, but I wouldn’t turn him away if he wants to get on his megaphone and bring attention to this. It couldn’t hurt.

I am always amused at the allegations that Israel is killing muslims. Everyday for the past 4 years there is another headline of a suicide bomber killing muslims in India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Pakistan and numerous other countires. The number of Muslims killed by Muslims in the past year alone exceeds all of the casualties, both Jewish and Muslim, of the wars between Israel and her arab neighbors. Muslims should clean up their own mid east house, before attacking the U.S. and Israel.

I could not agree with you more Mike Carey.I am so sick of listening to the idiotic minority.Israel should have kept going and taken Lebanon to secure their border.Hammas will have to get the U.N.(another useless minority)to build the boats for them,they cannot seem to provide anything except rockets for the people that they constantly put in harms way.I feel no pity for the palestinians that allow these guys to operate from their own neighborhoods.Lets hope they cannot swim.
