UPDATE II: We have posted an in-depth video report which examines the Chicago Tea Party from the inside out. It includes the video CNN has forbidden us to show to you. Check it out.
UPDATE: Obviously we hit a nerve with CNN because they forced YouTube to pull the video down, along with all of the comments people posted. Some other YouTuber (who we do not know and are not affiliated with) grabbed the clip before YouTube yanked it. That clip is embedded below.
At today’s Tea Party protest in Chicago, CNN’s Susan Roesgen found herself in some hot water with an angry crowd when she became belligerent with a protester.
CNN shut the segment down quickly, with a few editorial insults toward the Tea Partiers thrown in for good measure.
“I think you get the general tenor of this. It’s anti-government, anti-CNN since this is highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox.”
Founding Bloggers was on the scene, and we have footage of the schooling Susan Roesgen received from angry attendees after she signed off.
Below is the corpse of the clip we uploaded to YouTube, that CNN had yanked.

FINAL UPDATE: Our original clip which CNN fraudulently forced YouTube to take down in a vain attempt to silence us, has been restored!! Click here to see the coverage CNN tried BUT FAILED to disappear.

It wasn’t shot by CNN was it? Are they making a claim on the basis of the video containing a CNN on air personality?
Pierre
If this is a video recorded by some founding blogger guys and not recorded by CNN’s camera crew how could anyone (presumably CNN) claim copyright on material they had no part in recording. It is obscene that people with no affiliation or copyright ownership of this material can make a fraudulent copyright claim to have the material removed and in effect censored. Unless the Founding Bloggers have lied in claiming this material as their own recording, I would encourage them to contact you tube regarding this video’s removal, make claim to their ownership rights to this video as the original recorders of said footage, and demand the video be returned to public viewing as well as the original request to remove the video using a fraudulent copyright claim. If CNN is indeed behind the claim and the claim is false, perhaps an official complaint to an appropriate entity for fraudulent claims and a civil lawsuit could make them think twice before pulling a stunt like this again.
Saw the 1:28 piece posted elsewhere, its still on youtube so CNN has no copyright issue with a video of their reporter lecturing some protester. The video filmed by someone else which shows one of CNN’s precious reporters being criticized? That they have copyright issues with.
I am not surprised at the CNN reporter. CNN is incapable of listening to anything that contradicts their Washington butt sucking views! I attended the Moscow Idaho tea party and met people from all walks of life and yes some of them were democrats that want cogress out of their wallets! We the people of these United States are fed up with spending and scared to death about what is happening to our economy. We have every right to speak our opinion in this country and we should expect respect from the media. When she said this was not good family viewing I was ill. Our families are being directly effected by the current spending spree in Washington, and families need to view! I will never again watch CNN, MSNBC, NBC, or ABC for any kind of news, I now see first hand how twisted they truly are!
Good job holding CNN’s feet to the fire. This video was reported in our Broomfield 912 group after we went to the Tea Party in Denver. I watched the view count climb from 20,000 to 152,000 in a couple days. I’ve seen this reported on Hannity, and now O’Reilly. UNFORTUNATELY, YouTube has now pulled the video because of copyright claims by Cable News Network. When the media becomes the story, can they still claim a copyright on their own idiotic reporting? See if you can put it back up. We’ll download it and send it all over the internet. You guys rock!

Western journalism is becoming a real shame…
But we are living the same thing here in Québec (Canada).
If you think that what you earn should be entirely yours, you’re a right-wing and fascist extremist. And they will tell that your actions and your thoughts are inspired by right-wing party.
It’s the same thing if you think that politicians are using the power of the State to force people to follow their example of what is moral and what is not with laws to criminalize what you are if you don’t follow the model.
You guys have to get this up on BitTorrent. Let it go viral!!! The more CNN tries to squelch it, the more people will spread it. Get a tracker up and tell us where it’s at, and we’ll get it spreading! Post it at the912project.com, and you’ll access to over 500,000 users in no time. :)
Great job on this video! Can you post the raw footage to get around the CR issue? They probably had it pulled because of the mixed in CNN footage.
Where can I find this video now that its been pulled by CNN, every site is linking to the youtube video. Heck, I’ll donate some bandwidth to host it even.
Notice that the dozens of You Tubers with the orginal CNN video haven’t been shut down.
I am sure they were ALL given permission from CNN to post that clip. /sarc
Just edit out CNN’s original footage, give your own coverage a snazzy title, and post it as a “Video Response” to all the CNN-approved copies of the as-aired clip currently hosted on Youtube. They won’t be able to touch you.

as part of an article on Obama and tea parties.
I thought that a REPORTER was supposed to REPORT the news, not interpret it. I thought that a reporter wasn’t supposed to serve as a spokesperson and apologist for the current administration.
She tells a man out of work that his state is going to get 50 Billion Dollars — as though he should jump for joy. THAT’S TAXPAYER DOLLARS. HARD-EARNED. It’s not money privately provided by Congress and Company. NO. It’s OUR money. Or rather — it’s backed by the promise of our labor — and the labor of our children and grandchildren.
It is NOT her job as a so-called reporter to ARGUE WITH THE MAN. It’s her job to LET HIM SPEAK. Not speak for Congress herself. Not speak for Leftist Idealogues herself.
I remember a textbook I had to read to keep my teacher’s certificate. I kid you not. The book informed me that my principle responsibility in the classroom was NOT TEACHING MY AREA OF EXPERTISE — NO, NO, NO! My principle responsibility was — and I quote — “SOCIAL ENGINEERING.” I threw the book across my little apartment living room. It was a terrible wake-up call to me.
Like so many, I have realized that our American Republic is in serious jeopardy.
Make no mistake.
SOCIALISTS DO NOT HATE MONEY. In fact, they love to spend other people’s money. In fact, socialists love power — as well as money.
As those of us who gathered at Tea Parties across this land — as well as many who couldn’t be there, but were there in Spirit — this movement is not about Democrats or Republicans. It’s all about the Constitution, the negative impact of Big Government on societies past and present, and the derisive disregard by our so-called “representatives” of most of us who pay taxes.
As for calling Obama a fascist, well, Susan, check your history. Fascists were quite popular in the 20s and 30s. The first fascist of the 20th Century — and Mussolini’s idol — was Woodrow Wilson. Check out the excesses of his administration.
Mussolini was well-liked for years, even here in the US. Why??? Because he put in place social programs “for the people.”
Only one problem. They love their power more than they love “the little people,” the ones too ignorant to agree with everything they do and say, the ones too ignorant to raise their own children (better let the State do it, says Hillary), the ones too ignorant to know what’s best for them, for their children, for their future.
They love power more than anything.
Fascists always are on the “left,” as are communists, national socialists, etc. And, sooner or later, they run out of other people’s money (with apologies to Ms. Thatcher).
There is a revolt going on right now, Susan, and you can’t even smell it, can you? We’re FED up, my dear.My husband, after 22 years in the media, finds it difficult to believe that even CNN would put up with such drivel and sophomoric “reportage.”

IDGE, I agree. Bush and the Rs did contribute to the dismantling of our constitutional republic. But you say we conservatives are hypocrites for not protesting then, primarily because we wanted Bush to have strong domestic support while waging a difficult foreign war. I can understand your confusion, but you must realize it was a difficult paradox for us. Many of us, myself included, and many of the conservative talking heads, did profoundly disagree with Bush, and openly said so. I recognized his problem with the constitution during the McCain-Feingold debacle.
But there were two problems. First, most people’s image of the right comes to them from a false stereotype created by the propaganda machine of the left. If you didn’t listen consistently and objectively to conservatives using their own voice, you never heard about the internal conflict Bush was creating within the right. We liked his pro-life moves, we liked a strong national defense, and we liked free-market initiatives when he came up with them, because we could correlate these to our constitutional values. However, actions he took which blatantly conflicted with the constitution, such as the manner in which he started the war, McCain-Feingold, and immigration Amnesty, were causing substantial turmoil among us.
Nevertheless, the terrorist constituency overseas was watching, so what could we do, discredit our own president while he tried, with some effectiveness, to defuse a mortal threat to our safety? As long as the war was credible, this had a paralyzing effect on constitutional conservatives. We were getting seriously mixed signals, and did not want to endanger the success of our mission in Iraq by pulling down the political pants of our president in the middle of a war. That is to give aid and comfort to America’s enemies. Not good.
To compound the problem, genuine, knowledgeable constitutionalists were too few in number to make any kind of effective protest, and the rest of the conservative community was (and remains) as unskilled in the technicalities of constitutional law as the rank and file left. What has activated the protests, finally, is what I will call the “clear and present danger” syndrome. The constitutional and human negatives of the war did not present an immediate threat to the vast majority of work-a-day Americans. We could watch it on TV and root for a winner, us. The constitutional values trashed by McCain-Feingold got people stirred up who had a clear and immediate stake in the loss of free speech rights, but most of the rest of us could easily ignore the increased political silence in the days just before an election.
But when a unified Democratic Congress rubberstamped the most astounding increase of national debt ever, when it became obvious that whatever tax relief might be offered in the short term would be swept away by a tsunami of cost of living increases and the hyperinflation that inevitably must follow such massive deficit spending, when it quickly became obvious that Team Obama’s program would have the near-term effect of converting us from a free-enterprise system to a system of nationalized, centrally planned, socialized everything, people got it. It was clear, easy to grasp, and presented an immediate danger to the well-being of every American parent, child, and grandchild. Now it’s about all of us, so now we all care. That’s not a bad thing. That’s a good thing.
BTW, it is about taxes, because that’s precisely what deficit spending is, taxation through deliberate currency devaluation. The “under 250K” gimmick is a shell game for the dull-witted, designed to trick middle and lower class Americans into thinking they are safe. It’s just those evil, undeserving rich people who are going to be hit. Well, first of all, my ethical system informs me that a person is entitled to the fruits of his labor, so it is immoral to compel the false equality of socialism. It is a form of theft. Second, the reason this Tea party event is intimidating to Team Obama is not because they are afraid of a bunch of peaceful, middle-class ant-tax cranks, but because it signals an awakening, a realization of what the con is really about. Without an ignorant audience, he will find it much tougher to sell his snake oil.

The Woman in the video has a response here.
I am a Chritian talk show host and I had journalism classes and training in school for two years. I can say with out any reservations that what this CNN reporter displayed was an example of poor journalism. She let her emotions and bias overwhelm the “story.” That is a big no-no. If she was doing an opinion based talk show, that might have been a little different. However, she was a field reporter covering an event. I must say that I’m not surprised though. I watch CNN with some regularity as well as MSNBC and I can tell you that they are hiring journalists who posses poor training and technique. Why? The only conclusion I can come up with is that they have shifted from news delivery to propaganda and consequently those principles of proper journalism are irrelevant. They want sound-bites not facts or truth; drama rather than reality. They are news organizations in name only, not in practice. “Cable Not News” perhaps?
A general distrust of one’s own government is the true food of patriotism. A blind trust in the media is the drink of fools.
Hello, This is Fearblocke on youtube I hope your not mad I yanked your video yesterday before CNN Censored you. Mad as hell ;)
You guys are amazing! Thank you for reporting “THE TRUTH”.
I left the video in tact as the origenal.

Interesting but I do have to wonder where these protesters were when Bush was in office increasing the defense budget and wasting taxpayers money on the Orwellian War on Terrorism. This was certainly just as much if not more of an abuse of executive and federal power so where were the teabaggers then? Something looks very suspicious about this inconsistency to the general public and despite claims that it isn’t about the two parties, that’s why it is reported this way. Had the protesters been out protesting the Iraq War and how it wasted taxpayer money and increased fed power then you wouldn’t have reporting like this. Although the CNN reporter is clearly terrible and the teabagger protests are a good thing but I’m just saying there needs to be the same protests when Republicans wastefully increase the defense budget for half-assed wars. Without those efforts too the message will always seem slanted and dishonest to a lot of people.
RE: Carole Sluis on April 16, 2009 12:21 pm
“One thing that stands out to me is in all of the Tea Parties there were no Afro American to be seen! …”
One black lady walked past me at the Denver Tea Party and asked, “What’s this protest about?” I answered, “The government and its focus on spending, spending, and more spending.” She looked at me blankly, and I reminded her “Government gets its money from taxpayers.” She looked surprised and agreed, “That’s right” and walked away saying “Government gets its money from taxpayers”.
So, maybe we added One More Who Finally Understands!!!!
Anderson Cooper deserves a smug ass whooping. For him to be fired is letting him off easy.
But he is zeroing in on the idiots that listen to his stupid show. These clowns are the same ones who trash Fox equipment, vandalize republican headquarters and all that happy horsesheet.
But, I gotta admit, one poster above had a good point and was bashed with totally irrelevant arguements. If there were any protests during Bush’s watch, the were REGULARLY accused of being unpatriotic. Protests are what this country is about. Even when its a bunch of “lets talk it out” pantywaists. They may be wrong, but its their RIGHT to be wrong.
CNN only pulled the video of the CNN footage claiming copyright. The video containing the CNN footage plus the Founding Bloggers material is substantially different from the the solely CNN clip.
CNN was focused on the protesters while the FB story focus was the CNN reporter and her after-action interaction with the protesters. In that way, FBs use of the CNN footage would constitute fair usage and is not subject to copyright infringement.
Besides, the original CNN clip is still available at less frequented pages.
FYI, I have posted about CNN’s copyright claim here:
http://copyrightsandcampaigns.blogspot.com/2009/04/cnn-makes-copyright-claim-on-video.html
Wonder when we’ll see Susan on the air again? CNN is 6 feet down already, but they keep digging deeper.
I don’t understand how CNN can claim copyright on video YOU shot?? That sounds like a story to me!
Can anyone tell me how to “grab a clip” off of YouTube?

The reporter seems like she would be better off with FOX. Not siding with CNN, but it is very unlike CNN reporters to behave that erradically. That’s probably the most jarring part of the video. Nice job foundingblogger.
Got narcissism?

I think CNN would concede that it doesn’t own copyright in the footage shot by Founding Bloggers. But the video at issue had *both* CNN footage and Founding Bloggers footage. There’s no way to send a DMCA notice pertaining to only part of a video. But, as I explained in the post I linked to above, I believe Founding Bloggers’ use of the CNN footage was fair use, and that CNN’s takedown notice to YouTube was improper.

I used to be a Kool-aid drinker of DateLine, MSNBC and CNN until I attended one of the TEA parties in Virginia. This was my first time protest of any kind. I was proud to stand with my fellow Americans and stand up for the FAIR TAX.
I have seen my income dwindle as I hired employees for manufacturing jobs and try to make a change in their lives by giving them a solid work ethic. But then something happened and I couldn’t understand why my business went away. What happened was a Dateline story (that they had worked on for over 18 months) to follow their agenda and not report but a bare smidgen of the truth. What should have been reported was a company that actually beat the Federal Trade Commision for only the second time in New Jersey state history! What should have been reported is that there is a working device that boosts fuel economy on cars/trucks with gasoloine engine by more than 50%.
However, just like CNN, Dateline reported their version of the truth and now the device will remain buried in history as another commentary to keep Government and Corporations in power. The real story was so buried by the press that it only was listed in two places. To read the real “Reporting” see the following link.

Make no mistake, CNN was prepared to have Susan go out there full of hateful accusations. She has scarred the image of reporter in a big way. A reporter’s job is to cover the news, not MAKE the news.
