Tens Of Protesters Rally For Bank Nationalization In Chicago – A New Way Forward!
April 11, 2009 | 13 Comments
UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF POST – CHICAGO VIDEO ADDED
Approximately 30 people marched in Chicago today as part of the national New Way Forward protests held across the country.
More photos and video to follow. Check back soon.

Nationalize AND Decentralize. Can you do both of those, or is the expectation that the government will let go of those assets after they nationalize?

“To Big To Fail Send Them To Jail!”
We spoke with someone about the sign above because more than one person had one, and the small crowd was chanting it. They think that anyone who owns or controls too much should go to jail. We have video of this conversation and will be posting it as soon as possible.
Instapundit has more info and an update from the New Way Forward march in Boulder that also attracted tens of people.
Still More: Here is video from the equally small Washington, DC rally.
Yet More: St. Louis turnout in the teens.
UPDATE
Below is the video we produced from the Chicago New Way Forward rally (Saturday April 11, 2009). The most outrageous quote comes near the end when a protest leader says “The typical American is not a good citizen”
Highlights include:
(:35) A protest organizer announces that it is not just banks that are too big to fail. Other large companies should be nationalized too.
(1:25) A protest leader chants “If they are too big to fail then send them to jail!” Crowd dutifully repeats.
(2:18) One attendee thinks President Obama is too centrist and that he needs to talk more explicitly about nationalization.
(3:00) We ask if anyone is planning on attending the Tea Party protest. They shout back “No!”
(3:48) A protest organizer proclaims that if you do not like the term “nationalize”, you can use “receivership”.
(4:05) A protest leader says ‘Republicans are brainwashed’
(4:50) Auto dealers are predatory lenders
(6:10) A protest leader says “The typical American is not a good citizen”

Talk about a resounding swell of support, almost eclipses the MMM. Truly sends a message to… (or is that too?) all of us.
[...] ANOTHER UPDATE: Well it wasn’t much bigger in Chicago, though I suppose technically 30 is more than 25. Andrew Marcus has a report with video: Tens Of Protesters Rally For Bank Nationalization In Chicago – A New Way Forward! [...]
There were about three tens here in Austin:

Go to jail for what, exactly?

A New Way Forward is NOT a legitimate Tea Party group. They WANT banks nationalized where Obama and big government has control, which is SOCIALISM.
This group is now all over the internet trying to pull people from Tea Parties to go to their rallies and they support Obama and his politics.
Don’t be fooled! A New Forward is a socialistic group.
Lame assed d-bags.
They need the government to potty train them. Have some compassion.
This is getting intensely stupid.
Please do NOT tell me that greeny who said it was a waste of time to convert people to do they right thing is SMOKING!!??!!
These people are the most arrogant narcissist who are out trying to start war. Trust me, my parents were Berkeley warriors and the only thing anti-war activists get off on is war.
[...] 4/11 as an anti-capitalist response to the grassroots tea party movement. St. Louis? Fail. Chicago? Fail. Our nation’s Crapital? [...]
That protest is chock full of stupid. The Richard Belzer look alike is saying he wants a more local approach to banking, yet…. they want the banks nationalized???
And he speaks of “predatory lenders”. I never heard of a car dealer tell a college kid who works at Wendy’s “Well, gee… you make just enough to afford this 2004 used Chevy Impala, but let’s get ya that Corvette over there!”
Damn it people. I wish you folks would learn the difference between Socialism and Fascism. See WWII Italy for a good example of the type of fascism that we are practicing here. Obama is just continuing the Bush playbook. Where were all of these Tea Parties when Bush started this crap? Were you too worried about your 4th amendment rights to speak up then?
Democrats=Republicans=Oligarchy & Fascism.
If we had informed people here, Ron Paul (or Mike Gravel) would be president now.
Stupid people really annoy me, but at least the ones on the Left pretend to be informed.
usedbutterflywing proves my point exactly. Don’t tell me that greeny (which I am not, but that’s the only exercise you probably get is jumping to the wrong conclusion)is SMOKING. You don’t listen to what is being said, you form your opinion by what something looks like. How typical of people of your ilk.
That bigaratte smokin moron needs to get his shit straight. I was at the tea party and do not consider myself to be a republican. Most of the people there weren’t listening to Rush, nor were they ‘brainwashed.’ If anyone has succumbed to the elites BS, they are right there with them, continuing to divide the political bands even further.
