Nice editing there chief.

I was at the protest on the 11th and I got quite a different take on the event than you did. You should have stuck around and listened to some of the post march conversations. If you'd have put your camera down for a second, you may have actually been able to ENGAGE in a CONVERSATION with some folks.

Question-Response interviewing does not build a coalition.

If you stand in front of the lady with the bullhorn, of course all you're gonna hear is talking points. While the lady with the noise maker may have Socialist tendencies, not everyone shared in her beliefs 100%.

I do have to give her props, 'cause I believe she was the one who applied for the permit. The fact that you need a permit to air your grievances and freely assemble is a whole 'nother travesty of justice.

As a fiscal conservative, and a responsible ACTIVE citizen, I felt it was my DUTY to make my concerns heard.

Did you not hear any of the chants "Sherman Anti-Trust?"

Teddy Roosevelt is probably rolling in his grave. These fascist economic policies being carried out by Geithner and Obama are just the continuation of the policies of Bush.

Let me repeat that for the folks who need the "echo chamber."

The fascist economic policies being carried out by Geithner and Obama are just the continuation of the policies of Bush.

If you don't think they are fascist, look at WWII era Italy. Not all fascism is racist in nature.

Where was Faux news and the Right wing when these Fascist policies were begun?

I believe it was love fest, par usual.

Without a doubt, any institution that is "Too Big to Fail" is a danger to our economy. These mega banks, insurance companies, "bank holding companies," auto conglomerates, and anything else that is big enough to wreck our economy if it fails, needs a serious dose of trust busting.

In response to some of the other comments here.

1) America doesn't encourage the development of responsible citizens. A responsible citizenry requires an EDUCATED and INFORMED citizenry.

No child left behind was an acceleration of irresponsible educational policy, and the siphoning off of school funds buy our lovely mayors favorite slush fund, the TIFs, is criminal.

Our news is a joke. What does lindsy lohans new rehab adventure have to do with my well being? who cares what kind of dog Obama got for the White House.

Thank you Bill Clinton for allowing the MASSIVE consolidation of our media landscape.

So, since MOST Americans have substandard education and rely on our mainstream media, we don't have good citizens. If we did have good citizens, Ron Paul or Mike Gravel would be president.

2) Many lenders are responsible for this sub-prime mess.

Countrywide has been found to be CRIMINALLY culpable. How many folks read ALL the fine print? Really? when was the last time you read your entire auto insurance policy? There were many mortgages given that had rates dependent on ALL of your financial dealings. Late on 1 credit card? Well since you're OBVIOUSLY irresponsible with one credit vendor, your mortgage rates are now going up.

The folks who have the money should be responsible for what they do with it. I had a friend who originated sub-prime loans. I asked him about the ethics of him issuing loans to folks who he knew would be in over their head, he said "it's not my problem." I then asked him what happens when these people can't make the payments, he said "well then they lose their house." I continued with "What happens when a whole bunch of these folks lose their houses?" he replied "well then that loan program goes away." He didn't care either way cause it wasn't his life tied up in the house and it wasn't his loan program to worry about. He made money. That was pretty much the only concern of most of the folks responsible for this mess.

http://crisisofcredit.com/ my favorite part is "financial wizards"

So in conclusion, this massive concentration of power and wealth does nothing to benefit the masses of our country. In fact, it is perilous for our democratic republic.

Divisive comments and posts about grassroots organizers and organizing will do nothing to help the cause of limited government and responsible economic policy.

We are at a juncture in time where we ALL need to come together to stop the abuses of the uber elite, those in their palaces in they sky and the government goons they control.

In Solidarity,

Tea Parties Forever, by Paul Krugman, Commentary, NY Times: This is a column about Republicans — and I’m not sure I should even be writing it. Today’s G.O.P. is, after all,… embarrassing to watch. And it doesn’t feel right to make fun of crazy people. …
Then there are the claims made at some recent tea-party events that Mr. Obama wasn’t born in America, which follow on earlier claims that he is a secret Muslim. Crazy stuff — but nowhere near as crazy as the claims, during the last Democratic administration, that the Clintons were murderers, claims … supported by a campaign of innuendo on the part of big-league conservative media outlets and figures, especially Rush Limbaugh. Going back to those tea parties, Mr. DeLay, a fierce opponent of the theory of evolution — he famously suggested that the teaching of evolution led to the Columbine school massacre — also foreshadowed the denunciations of evolution that have emerged at some of the parties. Last but not least: it turns out that the tea parties don’t represent a spontaneous outpouring of public sentiment. They’re AstroTurf (fake grass roots) events, manufactured by the usual suspects. In particular, a key role is being played by FreedomWorks, an organization run by Richard Armey…, and supported by the usual group of right-wing billionaires. And the parties are, of course, being promoted heavily by Fox News.

perhaps turnout would have been more significant had ANWF's message, plan, & organizational skills been, well, more organized.

it's also difficult to get behind a group that either doesn't know the meaning of the words they use, or is re-defining them as they go along.

to wit: they were calling for the nationalization of the banks at the same time they insisted the banks be decentralized.

i'm glad they cleared that up for me....

So we’re going to force morality on the public via legislation. Well, that worked out pretty well with prohibition…

I'll bet Lombard Larry actually bought that Camaro that he couldn't afford - assuming the story is true - and he was disappointed when sitting in hot car didn't attract chicks who were looking for intelligence.

"America breeds consumers", wow, that guy from Lombard sure has an interesting view of his fellow citizens. But then again he seems to be blaming all of America for the actions of a used car salesman who probably sold him a once beautiful Camaro that had been street raced in Lyle for three years and was ready for complete main bearing failure.

It is however true that you will not look good sitting in a Camaro at the drive-in while it is leaking its 1 1/2 gallons of oil.
