We just received the following invitation in our in-box:
Senator Barbara Boxer–the tenacious and determined voice to protect the environment, provide services for veterans and their families, funding for disaster relief and to shore up our crumbling infrastructure, providing resources to educate and protect our children, and so much more—is up for re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2010. She faces potential challenges from the likes of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and former CEO and McCain surrogate Carly Fiorina who have the means to make this a very costly campaign.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is contemplating a run for Senate? Good luck to the girlie man who just bent over for the President like he was meeting the king of Saudi Arabia.
And how is Carly Fiorina a “McCain surrogate”? Is Durbin a Barbara Boxer surrogate?
Anyway, we continue…
She has put together an aggressive political and fundraising program early in the election cycle to stake her ground! We need her in the Senate to champion the causes we care about.
Senator Dick Durbin considers her one of his closet friends and allies in the Senate. Here is what he says about her: “Barbara Boxer is a senator who takes a stand on tough issues and fights for her principles. From the environment to clean energy to civil liberties to global issues – she is the person you want on your side on the Senate floor. She is one of my closest friends in the U.S. Senate. We need her passion, her energy and her voice in Washington.”
Please support Sen. Boxer by contributing to her re-election and attending breakfast at the East Bank Club on Friday May 15th!
For those outside of Chicago, East Bank Club is the extremely expensive health and social club of Chicago’s most elite movers and shakers. President Obama is a member. Oprah is a member. Carol Moseley Braun was a member at one time (might still be). And that is just the beginning of the high powered and high net worth membership list of East Bank Club. It is probably the priciest club in the entire city.
They couldn’t have picked a better place to beg the wealthy for the cash needed to further promote class warfare against the wealthy.

Why am I not surprised?
