If this NY Times article is to be believed, the environmental fascism brigade wants to stop using the term “global warming” because the term is associated with hippies and other bad stuff.
The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington.
Nice try. The real reason these leftists want to walk back the term “global warming” is because after the previous mild summer and brutally cold winter, you’d have to be a Kool-Aid drinking Obamafile not to notice that it doesn’t exist the way we have been sold. The green pushers are worried that mother nature is exposing them as frauds.
So what do these geniuses of social engineering recommend?
Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.”
It’s just like when the Left realized it should shut up about socialism and start calling themselves progressives, but a turd is still a turd, even if you dress it up in the finest Democrat-approved language.
The good news is that this is probably one of the signs that their whole fascist green movement is in a death spiral.

Gore is a coward!!!
He made it clear to Waxman last week that if Lord Monckton showed up to testify, he would not. Now there is a man confident in his science.
I had the good fortune to attend a Christopher Monckton presentation last Tuesday night. It is easy to see why Al Gore is afraid of him. He (Monckton) is a very honest man on a genuine mission to spread the truth.
He didn’t even tell people that he has a DVD for sale on the Science and Public Policy website. He has no connections to big oil or coal. He is obviously isn’t doing this for the money. Lord knows that can’t be said of Gore who stands to make a billion if cap and trade legislation goes through in the U.S. Monckton said during the presentation that Gore told the committee last Friday that if Monckton showed up, he wouldn’t. Gore has been running from Monckton for years. As I said, it’s with good reason.
Monckton would tear Gore apart in a one on one debate. Anyone who doubts Monckton’s abilities should view Apocalypse? No! which is a tape of a presentation he made at Cambridge.
