Institutional Racism – More Institutional Than Racist?

May 4, 2009

[via Instapundit] For decades raceologists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have been insisting that one of the main problems with American education is an institutional racism which keeps school funding low in poor, minority, Democrat neighborhoods, and high in the rich, white, Republican neighborhoods.

Not to discount the devastating effects discrimination in our federal system(s), some of President Obama’s education policies betray a misconception created and encouraged by leaders on the Left. The Reason video below focuses on one of these policies:  the DC school voucher program.

President Obama didn’t invent the public education nightmare, but he certainly seems beholden to it.

When a black man destroys the education of a black child because it suits the unions, is that a racial problem or an institutional one?
