Can you say conflict of interests?

As the White House and the Washington press corps celebrate how terrific they are, laughing at 9/11 and the idea of a dying Rush Limbaugh, it goes unmentioned that the real reason they are engaged in this love-fest might have something to do with the symbiotic exchange of ad dollars and access for editorial coverage/endorsement.

If you are part of a publication that is facing bankruptcy (NYT), how tempted must you be to produce content that will attract $$ from one of the richest politicians/parties to ever play the game?

The more reliant the press is on politicians for money, the less likely it is we will ever have quality critical coverage of this government.

But hey, let’s all laugh it up and have a good time while the media looks the other way, ignoring the dramatic changes the Progressive movement is making to this country.

    mcnorman,

Thanks for the kind words. Gotta say that current news events that continue to occur on almost a daily basis provide ample material. What makes it all the more fun is that it’s very easy to apply Alinsky’s rules to the current establishment. I’m sure Saul and his followers would agree.

If we can get a few chuckles out of it without getting personal, all the better.

Drudge, I thought the material would taper off somewhat after the election…how wrong I was!
