U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk will call for legislation Monday that would toughen drug trafficking laws regarding a highly-potent form of marijuana, with penalties of up to 25 years in prison for a 1st-time offense.
25 years for a first offense? This is one of the reasons the Republicans are out of power. This is just a stupid and fascist proposal.
I am a total conservative – but really – our American kids are dying body bags from drugs? Do any of our politicians know the body count?
Putting these kids away is stupid – emergency intervention in the schools with photos of kids lungs – what it does to the brain – makes impulsive kids even more impulsive etc.
I had two straight A kids in gifted schools at one time.
Then – they went to a high school where everyone did drugs – don’t you realize these kids get “sucked in???” They get “seduced”?
Why the hell don’t you put the military on the Border and protect our American kids???
Why don’t you have a mandatory emergency class for kids in grade school – scare the hell out of them just the way I was scared of drugs!! I won’t kill ‘em you know – but the drugs do!!
Who is this man who wants to put otherwise great kids away for 25 years? This does not stop them – have classes on peer pressure -
Kids in churches DO GET THIS KIND OF WARNINGS AND INFORMATION – but your secular kids do not – so don’t throw the poor kids in the Klink – just because no one bothered to teach them of the dangers in this world.
This is totally crazy! The war on drugs must be ended!
