I’ve heard the same stupid argument for years. “The media are owned by big corporations; which means they are conservative.” That’s like saying since RJ Reynolds tobacco owns Kraft Foods, then Velveeta is made out of cigarettes.
Well said. All sorts of corporations are owned by all sorts of people with all sorts of political beliefs. Anyone making simplistic, sweeping generalizations about owners of corporations is selling a lie.
Speaking of cigarettes, here is my proposal:
Barak Obama’s birthday is Aug. 4th: I say that we send him a pack of his favorite cigarettes as a gift. It has the beauty of being a two-fer: We can support an overly-maligned industry that is not politically correct AND we send a message of tender regard for our dear leader. I think we are showing Obama about the same level of respect he is showing our Constitution.
