Below is our full video report from Chicago’s 4th of July “Re-Tea” Party Protest. It was organized by a ballot access group called Free and Equal.

The strange thing about this Tea Party is that many of the speakers were progressives from the Green Party and Nader campaign! It was all very odd. They are against the two party system, but support national healthcare. They are against Cap and Trade, but believe in man-made global warming. They claim to be “all partisan,” but boycotted the tax day tea parties because of Republican involvement.

What they did have in common with the average Tea Party protester was a sense of disenfranchisement and anger toward a dysfunctional two party system, but is that enough to bridge the socialist divide? Watch and find out:

Lastly, there wasn’t really a place to put this in the video report, but we wanted to include this interesting comment from protest organizer Christina Tobin regarding ACORN. She has had direct contact with them in her non-partisan efforts to expand ballot access.

What did anyone expect out of Corrpuptocrat/Marxist owned Chicago?

These people have more in common with the Totalitarian Marxist Corruptocrats and the 0bamamessiah then they have with anybody else. The only thing that is pi**ing them off is that the Corruptocrats and the 0bamamessiah are not destroying the country fast enough for their tastes. I am surprised that Code Pinko didn’t show up for this “TEA party”.

The only ones they are fooling are themselves. They may think they are but the stench of Marxism emanating from them is enough to knock a buzzard off a gut wagon.

I guess we deserve this because here it was, our historic moment, and we let it get hijacked by the hard left, simply because everyone assumed that someone else was going to organize this.

At least there were a few Republicans speaking there, but I dearly hope that when people get behind candidates and so on, they recognize that the Green party is Obama on steroids. As it is, I wish I’d saved myself a drive and went to a suburban tea party.

This MADNESS is precisely what FOX News deserved to have happen.

FOX created their “grassroots movement” with nonstop promotion. I believe FOX had no better intent than to boost their ratings.

But what FOX unleashed could not be controlled. Instead of a “nonpartisan” yet defacto Republican event, the Tea Parties became an angrier version of Ron Paul anarchy- dream gatherings.

It’s easy to be against everything, but none of these people had a reasonable coherent solution for anything. Their motto seems to be ” kill ‘em all “. Some solution huh???

I am the original commenter who inquired last week about a Chicago Tea Party on the 4th. First, thanks for tracking down the facts.

We, along with a number of other previous Tea Party participants, made a deliberate decision not to participate in this one. We can’t imagine any scenario where we could support the same candidates as the organizers or how they could possibly reduce both the size of the government and its intrusiveness into our lives.

Finally, what’s with hiding your face? It’s us right wing extremists that are on the government watch list, not you leftists!

    I had the same thought…
    Green Tea Party Movement?

Is anyone “in charge” in our area?

What about putting together an “official,” legal Tea Party organization? I’m just tossing ideas around….
    Order…we need order!

Wow, there are some ridiculously uninformed people commenting here.

Nahanni is clearly an isolationist lunatic, Kent doesn’t know how to read or is too busy with his own life do any volunteer organizing, Ron is totally ignorant of the fact that the ReTea Party gave 5 (five) ways that people can get involved to start fixing the system, Rick T. thinks that if you give people time to exercise their first amendment rights you necessarily support their candidacy, and C. Jines is trying to organize a counter-tea-party!

What the heck is wrong with you people? You’re all gonna be huddled around in your extremist circles, the day democracy dies in this country, totally ignorant of the fact that you were tricked into such divisive behavior by the bipartisan looters running our government.

I’d be truly surprised if there’s a single libertarian in this group; the most intelligent conservatives are libertarians just like the most intelligent liberals are progressives. Anyone who still gets their news – not to mention their ideologies and backbone – from Fox News or CNN is just a corpor-govern tool.

This is another example of the power media has over – and, hence, responsibility toward – the common, uninformed people. The investigation of the question, “Is there room in the Tea Party movement for liberals?”, though interesting, was clearly likely to exacerbate division amongst the two groups, when posted on a conservative site. The truth is that the question was already answered – liberals were invited by non-partisan hosts and *made room* against all others.

The editors would have done better to paint a picture of “Liberals and Conservatives come together in condemnation of government corruption”, to help begin a truly historic movement. Instead, grassroots activists find themselves fighting against the effects of even smalltime media, like yours. Next time, lead your sheep down a better path.

“C. Jines is trying to organize a counter-tea-party!”
    C. Jines is not organizing anything. Just making note of the disorganization. Liberals and conservatives can’t come together on this because we have very different political philosophies. As far as being ignorant and uninformed….you must have dialed the wrong number. Hang up and try again…

  12. C. Jines on July 8, 2009 1:12 pm

    “…democracy dies in this country”
We have a republican model of government, not democracy. Founders never dared to use that word for good reason. Study the Federalist Papers and see…

  13. C. Jines on July 8, 2009 1:16 pm

“…just like the most intelligent liberals are progressives.”
The most pathological liberals are progressives. Collectivism is a intellectually complex way of committing suicide no matter what you like to call it.

    “NonPartisan”
Your name says much. The world-view that claims that it is not a world-view. The intellectual swindle par excellent…

Just so you know, your philosophy is based upon the “web of life paradigm.”

That would be the superstructure that has influenced your base, if we use Marxian terminology.

What is the web of life paradigm? The view that we are all connected and interdependent. Away with Newton and his isolated parts!

    What are its hyper-goods?
    Thou shall not value rank.
    Thou shall not categorize.

The progressives claim; “We are beyond all that now.” That is what progressivism is all about. Moving on past hierarchy, moving on past the individual and into the great “collective” web of life.

If you were truly NonPartisan…you would be dead. That’s why the claim is a swindle…

    I’ll shut up now…Peace

When will enough Americans wake up and put an end to the Federal Reserve Act and the 16th Amendment?

Both were signed into law in 1913 and have made the United States slaves to the European bankers for the last 96 years.

These Central European bankers are the same people that our Founding Fathers fought in the Revolutionary War in 1775.

Our Congress granted these thieves access to our pocket books when they had no Constitutional authority to do so.

Let’s end the Federal Reserve now.

“When will enough Americans wake up”
Personally I’m not holding my breath on any great awakening. The Borg got hold of the kids long ago. It had me for some time, but I was able to escape before it was too late.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”
