Apple Censors The Dictionary For Vulgarity!

First Amazon secretly and remotely deletes copies of 1984 from kindles around the world. Now Apple is editing the dictionary for vulgarity!

“We were rejected for objectionable content. They provided screenshots of the words ‘shit’ and ‘fuck’ showing up in our dictionary’s search results. What’s interesting is that we spent a good deal of time making it so that you must type vulgar words in their entirety, and only then will we show you suggestions in the search results. For instance, if you type ‘fuc’, you will not see ‘fuck’ as a suggestion. This is in contrast to all other dictionaries we’re aware of on the App Store (including Dictionary.com’s application), which will show you ‘fuck’ in the search results for ‘fuc’, ‘motherfucker’ for ‘mother’, etc.”

When the dictionary offends you, it is time to enter therapy. In-patient therapy.

Intelligence by lowest common denominator.

One Response to Apple Censors The Dictionary For Vulgarity!

Having been brought up by two (count them-2) teachers, whenever I had a question, one of the first things they would say (you could bet on it) was “get the dictionary.”
I personally feel and think that obscenties and blasphmany don’t have a place in the dictionary when young children are involved. Perhaps they should issue a dictionary for schools and another for use by the general population.
“Intelligence by lowest common denominator.” Such is the defination of vulgarity. Defining vulgarity is the lowest form of speech, save blasphmay. Look it up.
The more vulgarity is used, the more acceptable it becomes.
A case in point, DARE was concieved and implemented to, hopefully educate the youth of America to the negative aspects of drug usage. In recent studies, it was discovered that where the DARE program was taught, the usage of drugs was greatly increased compared with areas where the availability of drugs was the same, but not taught.
Civility and common sense should prevail when teaching the youth of our nation.

(My misspelled words are because of a lack of a dictionary at this time or spellchecker at this site.)
