Democrats Must Think They Will Be In Power Forever

Democrats must think that they are going to be in power forever. How else can you explain the giant government power grab they are orchestrating?
Take two examples….for example:
1) Single provider health care - If the government is the single provider of health care, as envisioned by the progressive left, the government will eventually become the single provider of abortion. That’s all well and good if you are planning on being in power forever, but on the off chance that reality is still the prevailing existence, one day conservatives will regain control of the government and will inherit the monstrosity now being constructed by the Democrats. When they do, that single source of abortion will probably be shut off lickity split.
If the anti-abortion crowd were smart, they would be embracing socialized medicine. In the short run it will mean more abortions, but in the long run, they will inherit the ability to kill it….so to speak.
Is that in the long term best interest of those who wish to see abortion remain safe, legal, and affordable?
2) The fairness doctrine (see Malkin’s post on this today) - Democrats are getting ready to use their tax payer funded governmental authority to attack American citizens who dangerously disagree with socialist doctrine. That’s all well and good if you are planning on being in power forever, but on the off chance that reality is still the prevailing existence, one day conservatives will regain control of the government and will inherit the monstrosity now being constructed by the Democrats. When they do, Democrats might just find themselves muzzled by the same fascist ball gag they are unleashing against their enemies today.
Is that in the long term best interest of those who cherish free speech?
Do reasonable people on the left really think that the progressive (majority) wing of their party is acting in the best interests of the long term goals of classical liberalism? Or are you all some other kind of “liberals”?
It might be wise for any government to consider what it will be like to live under the system they create, after they are out of power and the people they have demonized take the reins.

The Democrats are desperate. The lion of the Senate is gone and many of them are weighing
in as to how important is it for them to stay? Those that are up for election are worried and know that it will take more money to run a successful campaign. It is so obvious especially when it comes to townhall meetings,or lack of…President Obama is trying to keep all these plates spinning and they are falling one by one!!
