Obama’s Dissident Database – Those Who Would Sacrifice Liberty For “Medical Security” Deserve Neither

August 6, 2009

Powerline and Brain Terminal are both considering the legal implications of the Obama administration’s decision to start keeping tabs on emails of dissenters.

John’s line sums it up best:

A secret and more or less permanent dissident database–in America! That’s quite an accomplishment for an administration still in its seventh month. It seems longer, somehow.

When the Bush administration considered forming a network of snitches to fight against jihad in the homeland, the proposal was blasted as too intrusive. When the Obama administration, without consideration, forms a network of snitches to monitor political dissent, it is launched without question from the ever-obedient-lock-step left.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Those who would sacrifice liberty for “medical security” deserve neither.

Cool picture. I have many updates to this story at http://www.thesubstratum.com, including guidelines violations for .gov websites, my talk with the RNC and how they intend to respond, my talk with the American Center for Liberty and Justice (who will be hosting Sen. John Cornyn on the radio tomorrow), and a link to a petition. We need to all keep up the pressure. If this goes viral, as they say, then Obama’s political capital will all but dry up.

The new FLAG CZAR must be EXPOSED for illegally monitoring private communications of concerned citizens expressing a contrary opinion on issues. Expose BHO hypocrisy on claim of TRANSPARENCY. This FLAG CZAR being used to shut down opposition under guise of “disminformation” violates FOIA, Privacy Laws/Executive Office~~ unbelievable using our taxpayer $$ to monitor us!! GREAT EFFORT!!

To say this bothers me and many of my friends and family is an understatement. To say I’m a right wing conspiracy nut is far from the truth. Although, like Obama trying to be a doctor, I play one on TV.

Here’s the rub of it for me. First, Obama and crew don’t need to have people send in emails with misinformation. They are plenty capable of finding the criticism themselves. So, what is the real goal? (Remember, all good illusionists hang their hats on distraction.)

I fear it is to make people comfortable with turning in a friend for “the greater good.” Nothing will happen this time, (except the gathering of intel.) and maybe nothing next time, but someday people will get comfortable with it, and turning in a friend to show how loyal you are to the party will become second nature.

Watch Chavez and Venezuela, Correa and Ecuador, and Morales in Bolivia to see a possible future here. Ask yourself why Obama likes them so much.

But then again, I could be wrong, and just one of those conspiratorial nutjobs they are talking about…

To answer “what the hell is wrong with these people”, it is all about the “game” and has nothing to do with real-life. “Win” or lose. Certain people have either not grown up enough, or will never grow up enough, to distinguish the difference. They truly beleive that if they “win”, the fallout will have nothing to do with them.

Idiom Definition for ‘Sing like a canary’:
If someone sings like a canary, they tell everything they know about a crime or wrongdoing to the police or authorities.

The Obama administration likes canaries. They not only sing… they also like their cages and are content to be provided for in whatever manner their masters see fit.

Personally, I’m pulling for the eagles in this country.
