Everyone in Chicago jaywalks. When Chicagoans travel to other cities that strictly enforce jaywalking laws, they often scoff with envy at the nanny state revenue generating practice. Chicagoans are just jealous because they can’t relate to what it’s like to live in a city that has murder, rape, and theft so under control that the police can monitor how people cross the street.
That’s why Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams didn’t think twice before stepping off the curb in Seattle with little to no regard for his own safety.
Sox GM gets ticketed for jaywalking
Williams tried to tell the officer people in Chicago cross streets anywhere. He said the officer told him, not in Seattle.
