Does Dale Rathke Owe Back Taxes On $2 Million Undeclared Income?

Maura Flynn of Big Government posted our Wade Rathke video, wherein ACORN’s retired founder discusses his brother Dale’s problem locating one million dollars he must have misplaced somewhere. That could happen to anyone. Has he checked his pants? His coat pocket? Where was the last place he remembers having it?

A commenter at Big Government makes the following point about that little mishap:

I cannot believe that his brother is NOT in jail for goodness sakes the man stole a million dollars of which he DID NOT pay taxes of income. I believe that is how Capone was finally put in jail. Where is the IRS? I and all of you on this site would be in jail right this minute. It doesn’t matter that anyone paid it off he still did not pay income tax on a million dollars of income and when the SECOND million was paid on his behalf was the income on that paid? This is the KEY to taking down the Rathke’s and someone had better start looking seriously at it. 2 MILLION dollars in income with no taxes paid…unbelievable!

Did he pay taxes on that “income”? And how did the structure of that payment work? Did Drummond Pike (founder of Tides)  pay it directly to ACORN? How did he account for that? It would be interesting to see those federal tax documents. Did anyone lie to Uncle Sam about where that money was from or what it was for? If so, wouldn’t that leave Mr. Pike open to a charge of conspiracy to cover up a crime? Wouldn’t everyone who knew about the missing money (Wade and the rest of the executive committee), and didn’t go to the authorities for 8 years, be open to a charge of accessory after the fact?
