More Poor Sportsmanship In Chicago
October 3, 2009 | 16 Comments
Roland Burris, Jesse Jackson, Jan Schakowsky, and other Progressive Democrats are blaming President Bush for Chicago’s failed bid for the 2016 Olympics.
“There must be” resentment against America, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, near the stage where he had hoped to give a victory speech in Daley Center Plaza. “The way we [refused to sign] the Kyoto Treaty, we misled the world into Iraq. The world had a very bad taste in its mouth about us. But there was such a turnaround after last November. The world now feels better about America and about Americans. That’s why I thought the president’s going was the deal-maker.”
This displays a level of poor sportsmanship unbefitting an Olympic city.
Chicago’s Progressive-Democratic leadership did not deserve these games.

The millions of dollars we spent for the President to argue the case for bringing the Olympics to Chicago underscores the patronage the President is paying to his supporters. The fact that Chicago was eliminated by the IOC in the first round of voting shows that “The Great Hope” is not as powerful as he seemed to believe.
America is in crisis on many fronts yet our leader saw it fit to lobby for his cronies at taxpayer expense. This is the person we are counting on to negotiate nuclear controls with Iran? Something to think about.
The left is pushing their agenda through at a frightening pace and the GOP leadership is failing to use procedural methods to slow the process and allow more debate and details to be brought into the public light. This makes them complicit in the process. Being “strongly” opposed to senseless legislation is a far cry from actively fighting it. Don’t be fooled by lip service.

They make that stuff up in their head. The world hated us because of Bush, the world loves us now because of Obama. How many “world” people did Jesse Jackson talk to to come to that conclusion?? It’s all delusion, they believe what they wish to be true.
This was not just a loss, it was a crushing knockout. Those in Chicago who wanted the Olympics should be pretty upset that the obamas blew it by making it all about themselves.

This is discourse? Shameful.
[...] course… This won’t stop top democrats from blaming Bush for the major [...]
and we lost 8 more of our brave troops, the ones that keep our Freedom so obama can make a fool out of all of us. Think about keeping them alive while you are eating kobe steaks on a plane. I respect the office but that is not a man there.
What to do with all the sour grapes in Chicago?
Make whine.
i think mayor daly, pat ryan, our olympic delegation and president obama did a great job of presentation. we cannot correct our past 8 years of disrespect towards the world and expect it to turn around in 9 months.
the u.s. has hosted the olympics more times than it deserves in the past. it was time to let another country and another continent host the olympics. south america has never hosted it. this is what is really behind the rio choice.
Why didn’t we even have a clue as to where we stood in the vote? President Obama should have known that we weren’t in the running. I think he thought he had the clout to get the votes…ah duh!! There is a problem with the Obama administration and their math. It doesn’t add up…we are lucky if they have an idea of what the numbers are much less what they total too! I think it’s that CHICAGO way! Back to basics!!
President Bush lost it? really? Jesse Jaskson is about as ignorant as they come. His IQ must be lower than his shoe size. I recommend that he not go on the show “Am I smarter than a 5th grader?” For obvious reasons. Let me remind all the losers in Chicago that this city was chosen as a finalist while President Bush was in office. If it was resentment, why would the IOC select an American city for a finalist while President Bush was in office? Using a teleprompter to sway votes does not cut it. Also, trying asking the President and First Lady to stop using the first person singular pronoun in their speeches. The First lady 34 times in 16 paragraph speech and the President 23 times in a 13 paragraph speech.
This isn’t Bush’s fault. He left the dance nine months ago. What happens now is all on Obama and if he can’t show respect, he doesn’t deserve respect.
Two words to Jesse Jackson SHUT UP.He is the one making everything about race not the people.
I wonder if Chicago would have won would they have been so eager to give Bush the credit…sure!
These protest for profit types who reach into a cuspidor to find means to exploit are an insult to the work and sacrifices of Dr King, Medger Evers, James Meredith and Shirley Chisholm among many who are the true role models.
Blame the nearest white guy. Or whites, or Christians, or heterosexuals, or conservatives, the target of choice – men.
Don’t blame inner city black kids whose violence is making the round on Youtube, but is ignored by the empty-suit-in-chief as a “teachable moment”.
There is a race problem in the US, and we just saw where it’s being taught, formented, and advocated.
