A St. Louis blogger wanted to attend an event featuring Vice-President Joe Biden. Tickets for the event were available, and upon arrival at the ticket window he was notified that because he was a blogger who wanted to record the event, he would need to use the press entrance. Good enough.
He didn’t consider himself press, just a regular Joe who happens to blog. But hey, he didn’t care if they wanted to call him press, so he followed the directions he was given, went to the press entrance…and was granted entrance.
Cool! The White House policy must be that bloggers are press, and therefore enjoy all of the freedoms and privileges afforded other forms of recognized media. Right?
But every silver cloud has a dark lining. Because bloggers are now officially considered a legitimate member of the media(?) they need to get their credential requests in on time, and day of is not on time.
He was ejected from the event and questioned by Secret Service.
Hey, rules are rules. But why didn’t they let him at least stay and attend the event? Press are people too, no? Are press not afforded the same rights and privileges as regular citizens? Guess not.

We are the Press. We are Citizen Journalists. At the Time of the Founding of this nation the only thing you needed to be apart of the “Press” was a “type Press” in order to “Print” a Newspaper. Today we have the internet, which is our Form of a “type Press” for which we can print our Newspaper.
We are replacing the Main Stream Media..Just ask them. They complian all the time about Bloggers.
The Obama Administration has a habit of allowing Bloggers in and issuing them Press Credentials.
But they are just not used to allowing in Conservative Bloggers.

The media is what keeps government honest so if bloggers need to get their credentials in on time then the media who defend the White House constantly are not real media and should not be allowed in to things like this.
