Gee, their messiah didn’t pull it out for them. They can’t believe the payoff didn’t come through.
Alot of well meaning folks some of which have put some time in supporting the effort to get the Olympics there are understandably disappointed. I don’t blame them. They just don’t understand what would happen to Chicago if it had come there. Its a huge waste of money and the huge corruption that comes with huge expenditures would only serve to put Chicago even further in debt, and make the most vulnerable of its citizens worse off .
From the title, I was expecting to see some really bad behaviour…I think their reaction was understandable. While I myself think it’s best that Chicago won’t be burdened with this, I don’t think you can blame people who put years of their life in to a project for being disappointed when it doesn’t pan out. I will admit to being rather amused that The Won has some egg on his face, but I feel a lot of sympathy for the folks in Chicago who were excited about having the Olympics in their wonderful city.
Doesn’t FoundingBloggers think the people in the crowd were expecting Chicago to be chosen? It seems to me you are hoping Barry fails in everything and if he doesn’t, to PORTRAY it that way. If that is the case, then this posting seems a bit hypocritical and dishonest to me.
Am I reading something into this that isn’t there?
Well, at least the residents there didn’t beat anyone down with railroad ties over it.
Any chance to try and bolster the messiah myth. This post is sad. South America has never had an Olympics. The IOC has made it clear their intent to spread the games around geographically. Every thinking person knew the visit from the President was a hail mary from the get go.
Rio gets the games – as they should. It’s their turn.
