Patrick Kennedy: ‘Democrat Controlled Congress Is Meaningless And Impotent’

January 18, 2010

Democrats must be trying to make the case that Congress is a meaningless impotent group of irrelevant losers.

How else can you explain their continued blaming of President Bush for all the world’s ills.

As audience members streamed out of Pres. Obama‘s rally on behalf of AG Martha Coakley (D) here tonight, the consensus was that the fault for Coakley’s now-floundering MA SEN bid lies with one person — George W. Bush.”People are upset because there’s so many problems,” Rosemary Kverek, 70, a retired Charleston schoolteacher said as tonight’s rally wrapped up. “But the problems came from the previous administration. So we’re blaming poor Obama, who’s working 36 hours a day … to solve these problems that he inherited.”

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), speaking with a gaggle of reporters after the event, said that while state Sen. Scott Brown (R) offers voters a quick fix, in reality, the problems created by “George Bush and his cronies” are not so easily solved.

The problem with all of the Democrat whining is that Democrats have had control of the Congress since 2006. Given that they have held at least one branch of government for more than 3 years, they are implying that the Congress is a worthless group of irrelevant loafers, with no real power at all.

Which do you think is the truth? Is Congress powerless to the whims of the Executive, as Kennedy would seem to suggest, or are Democrats lacking any sense of personal responsibility for the effects of their legislation?

The programming of the schoolteacher and Rep. Kennedy by the media appears to have been a success, as it was for 52% of the voting public.

Democrats lack the emotional maturity that adults possess. Blaming others for your shortcomings is not a desirable trait for a public official.

I don’t want to be governed by Bart Simpson.

Was that supposed to read “a retired Charlatan schoolteacher”?

And Democrats taking responsibility for their own failures? Hahahahahaaaa!

They have no other option, other than to blame Bush. They realize (privately) that they are getting waxed in the marketplace of ideas, and so then have no other choice than to try and pin those bad ideas on other people. It’s Progressive politics 101.

In congress, Democrats and Republicans both face the same dilemma regardless what party is in charge. We are so shackled with party labels until we can not see the true.
Obama hits it on the head when he mentions that lobbyism is the worst threat to democracy. So, if we look at Congress with this thought; if Congress is helpless, than we all are helpless too.
