Schadenfreude – Media Matters In Desperate Denial Over Brown Win

January 20, 2010

When Media Matters is calling CNN biased, you know they are in a bad way!

CNN’s unbalanced Mass. Senate panel

They are also not pleased with Rush Limbaughs response to Scott Brown’s win:

Limbaugh on Brown’s win: “This one’s for you, Mary Jo.”

Schadenfreude!

    You got to love Rush.

Media Matters says “That’s two conservatives (Castellanos and Erickson), an independent who used to be a speechwriter for Rudy Giuliani (Avlon), two journalists (Bash and Borger), and one liberal (Begala).”

I think they’ve miscounted, since the last two groups clearly ought to be combined. That makes it three liberals. So what are they griping about?

  3. jgreene on January 20, 2010 at 12:51 am

Rush and Ann Coulter know how to get to the point and deeply under libtard’s skin.

I don’t love Rush, and sometimes I don’t even like him, but he’s usually right. When you’re opposing these skanks, how could you be wrong?

More to his credit, he’s not prey to McCain & Crown, either. Damned right.

  6. Shamus on January 20, 2010 at 12:57 am

    Voters are biased against Democrats.

  7. Mikey on January 20, 2010 at 1:05 am

I’m with Rush on this. Dems, please, PLEASE, strap the belt to your chest and with a loud “Obama akbar” politically detonate yourself.
Won’t achieve a thing but you’ll be gone. Aaah, the thought…

Over at MSDNC, Maddow and Kos took this election outcome as a sign that Democrats must now pass HCR even if it means “reconciliation”

Let’s see … Republican running as 41th vote against HCR in “bluest” state wins .. it’s a sign the “blue” team must pass HCR by all means necessary. Talk about dense. To call these people stupid would be an insult to stupid people.

Guess maybe I will get my wish to have the Democrats complete their “lemmings” death march as they kamikaze their way into the history books.

  14. Mark on January 20, 2010 at 2:11 am

I reside in Boston, Ma. I am so happy I could play a small part in this historic election. I voted for Lt. Col Scott Brown /State Rep. Payback to the Demo-crooks for running this state like they own the citizens.

Oh I am Black , or as Harry Reid would say a “Negro”.

  15. Founding Blogger on January 20, 2010 at 2:13 am

To call these people stupid would be an insult to stupid people.

We are going to find out if there are any Democrats left in that party, or if they are all ideological Progressive-Socialists.

  16. Bingobill on January 20, 2010 at 2:18 am

Gotta hand it to Rush to get in a hit when the pols are down (or hit ‘em back twice as hard as BHO is prone to say). The Brown win signals a major victory for the Republican party, but the war is not over yet….Obama is still the president that grew from an ACORN, and he will not be still….

But are you light-skinned and dialect-free, or as Harry Reid would say “electable”?

Massachusetts did us proud tonight, but the shame of voting for The Swimmer for so many decades will linger on for a very long time.

  22. Russ Tibbitts on January 20, 2010 at 3:49 am

Shockingly, the Media Matters home page says in three different places that the MA election was not a rejection of health care reform, and for good measure adds that it was not a referendum on President Obama.

  23. Dave B on January 20, 2010 at 6:50 am

bingobill: I’m from Massachusetts, the Brown win was not a big win for Republicans, it was more a big win for “Tea Party” like and patriotic citizens. You wouldn’t believe how many Democrats voted for Brown in this election. It was definitely a referendum on the White House, Congress, and our other representatives that don’t seem to listen to us. We’ve been taxed to the limit, we’ve had government intrude into our private lives beyond what we are willing to accept and we’re tired of it.

I’m guessing that we just sent a message to the rest of the country that if it can happen here, it can and should happen everywhere else. There is no excuse. If we can overcome unbelievable odds, numbers, and an entrenched corrupt one party machine then there is no excuse for anyone else if they are truly patriotic. We did our duty, now it’s up to the rest of the country.

….Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

  25. Pat on January 20, 2010 at 7:20 am

I write a topical radio humor service myself. One of my lines on this was that Massachusetts voters were really impressed by the way Brown drove his pickup all over the state. It’s been decades since they had a senator who could drive.

  26. willis on January 20, 2010 at 8:15 am

“The Brown win signals a major victory for the Republican party, but the war is not over yet….”

Almost, but not quite right Bingobill. The Brown win signals a major victory for those who would recapture the conservative spirit of constitutional government and reclaim the GOP from the corrupt, incompetents who have stolen the Republican party. This is just the beginning, indeed the war is not over.

  27. Octus on January 20, 2010 at 8:25 am

If the Republicans are so politically tone deaf that they think Scott Brown’s win means it’s their turn at the trough, things are going to get ugly. I am just an average guy and I am sick and tired of choosing between the white pig and the black pig when our country has problems it will take leaders (note the plural) to solve. The Democratic Party made this mistake when they thought the vote against Washington Machine, governed at the time by Republicans, was a vote for them.

“Shockingly, the Media Matters home page says in three different places that the MA election was not a rejection of health care reform, and for good measure adds that it was not a referendum on President Obama.”

What did you expect Soros to tell them to say?

  29. bandit on January 20, 2010 at 9:20 am

I’m also from MA and have known Scott for a long time, which makes me feel really old because I remember his daughter being just old enough to walk, but I’ll offer this advice to the losers. Keep running against Bush and Cheney. Fantastic tactic because voters are much more interested in listening to your excuses than solutions in the here and now. The endless whining really makes you look in command of the situation and is really the leadership people are looking for. It’ll be just as successful as handing your boss a big pile of excuses. Keep up the good work.

Well, no. The one for Mary Jo was in 1970. And it was a finger.

    hey bandit…you said:
“It’ll be just as successful as handing your boss a big pile of excuses.”
you’re assuming these people have bosses, which implies real jobs in the real world…that they actually work for a living. i’d say you may be mistaken about that…they probably wouldn’t know what you’re talking about.

We might be surprised at just how significant a moment this turns-out to be… for Scott Brown, as well as the nation. Just like Reagan’s 1984 campaign commercial- “It’s Morning in America”-

Great post here, FWIW it’s linked at the Reaganite Republican…
