The Tea Party Palatine group is having a meeting in the Schaumburg Public Library,130 S. Roselle Road this coming Wednesday, March 3rd.

Another group, the West Suburban Patriots (an Independent Tea Party Group) is having a rally/protest against the government take over of health care in Batavia il on Saturday March 6, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. ( http://westsuburbanpatriots.ning.com/events/protest-govt-takeover-of )

Attending one or both of these events will certainly help the cause.

Some of those involved in the 2009 event moved on to other parts of the movement. I myself am currently on the road and moving to Las Vegas to spend the year working to defeat Harry Reid in Nevada.

John OHara works full time with Heartland and probably doesn't have the time to do what we did last year.

There have been a few others try to corral parts of the Chicago tea party movement, but some of them have caused terrible rifts because of ego and turf control issues.

I think the last month or two has seen some good people start working together to regroup for Chicago.

Another element to consider is that this time last year, we had people come from surrounding cities an states, and they're all organizing their own events now.

What happened a year ago was very unique for us all, but it likely cannot be duplicated. The organizers in place now seem to understand there is a need for something new and different, and I think you'll start seeing these plans unfold in the near future.

News of the death of the tea party in Chicago has been greatly exaggerated. We're celebrating the one year anniversary of the first Chicago Tax Day Tea Party with a rally at noon on April 15 in Federal Plaza. Over the past month we've been working with like minded groups across the city and state to not only help organize the rally, but to build an organization that is sustainable after April 15 to help educate voters, walk precincts, make phone calls and get out the vote for candidates that pledge to support and defend the constitution.

I attended that first tea party on February 27 and froze right along with you. Hope the good folks at Founding Bloggers can join us on April 15. We're going to have a lot of speakers, local liberty activists and regular Americans who've made a difference over the past year take the stage - including people you already know.

More information is available at www.teapartychicago.org or officialchicagoteaparty.com or on our Facebook page.
