Senator: Obama Administration Believes It Is “More Important To Protect The Legal Rights Of Terrorists Than To Protect Americans From Terror”

February 4, 2010

[Via Marathon Pundit] Harsh words about the Obama Administration from Missouri Senator Kit Bond:

As if that wasn’t enough, Bond opened the call by declaring that the Obama administration believes it is “more important to protect the legal rights of terrorists than to protect Americans from terror.”

Follow the link to learn why Bond feels this way. We wish it wasn’t true because that requires thinking the worst of our president and his administration, but it is hard not to feel like there is some accuracy to this statement. And with the President specifically, it’s hard not to be left with the impression that he doesn’t even like us very much. This impression grows each day his approval numbers fall. The more we reject his policies, the more he rejects us. He seems awfully angry lately, and it’s mostly aimed at other Americans. It would be nice to seem him aim some of that anger at the people who want to murder us.

What is it about this country that would allow us to elect a man who possibly doesn’t like us?

I always felt that during the election there was a willful blindness throughout the country. It was not as if there wasn’t HUGE red flags about Obama from the star- Ayers, Wright, or, you know…his OWN words- but none of it mattered. They were tired of Bush, and McCain was (I’m sorry) a piss poor candidate. Obama was the shiny new toy.

Now, people are beginning to awaken. Slowly. People are realizing what Obama wants from THEM,. It has gone from theory to practice, and people are not digging it.

There was a blindness there that was brought on by frustration, and unfortunately, people are sheep. (I hate to say that because I am a “people” too.) They will go often times with what they feel, and let the thinking come later.

    Much, much later.

Obama told 60 minutes last year: “I fundamentally disagree with that. Now — do these folks deserve Miranda rights? Do they deserve to be treated like a shoplifter — down the block? Of course not.”

Either the Chosen One was lying out his butt, or he doesn’t care what Eric Holder does. Either way the MSM won’t make a big deal about this.

The eight years prior to Obama’s election is a case study in brainwashing a country. Constant criticism, with very little of it warranted or based on facts, (and curiously never refuted) made us ripe for the election of just about anyone who wasn’t George Bush.

That was a mistake I don’t think we’ll soon forget. We’re starting to come out of our stupor and beginning to elect a better class of politician who is focused on the issues and not empty rhetoric.
