It is very nice to see that David Weigel gets it when it comes to the nontroversy over James O’Keefe’s wardrobe in the ACORN scandal videos. (Emphasis added in red)
A quick recap of my role here — I asked Hannah Giles about the charge, leveled by a lot of liberal bloggers, that she and James O’Keefe had misled people by claiming he dressed as a flamboyant pimp in the ACORN sting videos. She responded that the flamboyant costume was filmed later, for B-roll. Why Media Matters and other organizations think this dispute can discredit the ACORN tapes, I’m not sure — Giles was clearly dressed as a prostitute, and both her and O’Keefe spun wild, illegal scenarios that some ACORN employees appeared ready to help cover up.
Predictably, Weigel is being savaged by some of his Progressive readers.
Apparently not everyone is as stupid as Weigel:”Brooklyn prosecutors on Monday cleared ACORN of criminal wrongdoing after a four-month probe that began when undercover conservative activists filmed workers giving what appeared to be illegal advice on how to hide money.“While the video by James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles seemed to show three ACORN workers advising a prostitute how to hide ill-gotten gains, the unedited version was not as clear, according to a law enforcement source.
“‘They edited the tape to meet their agenda,’ said the source.”

My questions to Weigel:
(1) You say “some ACORN employees appeared ready to help cover up” illegal scenarios. Name those ACORN employees.
(2) Do you have a wingnut welfare legal defense fund to cover your attorneys fees when you get sued ?
Interestingly, anyone who watches the videos, can clearly see what James O’Keefe was wearing when he walked into the ACORN offices, and captured them on tape appearing to conspire to commit copious amounts of fraud.
16 seconds into the video below, the whole ugly truth is exposed for the world to see, because the filmmaker never hid the fact that he was wearing khakis when ACORN employees were recorded offering him advice on how to relocate his prostitute girlfriend into a shiny new government financed brothel filed with underage illegal alien prostitutes.
Sorry Media Matters, no fake controversy about wardrobe can obscure the truth, and that is why ACORN has folded.
