Does America Deserve To Be Attacked Again?

May 12, 2010

If you only read one article today, make it this one:

Shahzad and the Pre-9/11 Paradigm

In the 1990s we mocked the ineptness of jihadists and were confident civilian courts could handle them. Look where that got us…

…In the hours immediately following the discovery and disarming of the car bomb, media outlets and public figures fell all over themselves to lay blame as far as possible from where it would ultimately be found. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano suggested the incident was entirely isolated and directed her agency’s personnel to stand down. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg sportingly offered to wager a quarter on the proposition that the bomb was the work of a solitary lunatic, perhaps someone upset over passage of the health-care bill, and much merriment was had over how primitive the bomb had been and how doomed it was to fail.

This sort of reaction goes back much further than this administration. Consider the chain of events leading to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and eventually 9/11.

The Progressive Democrats have succeeded in taking much of America back to a 9/10 mindset, wherein we treated Jihad terrorists as common criminals, and arrogantly ignored all of their publicized declarations of war against us. In Progressivstan, the only discernible tactic of the Democrat controlled government is to rob Jihadis of credit for their acts of war by treating each attack as an isolated criminal event. Jihadis might hate it when Progressives deny them credit for their slaughters, however it does nothing to stop them from attempting to attack us again, and it does nothing to prepare the American public for future attacks.

This reactive soft peddling of the significance of repeated acts of Jihad against us Infidels helped make 9/11 a reality.

America might not deserve to be attacked by Jihad terrorists, again, but we sure are asking for it, again.

The intellectual weakness of the corrupt “progressives” in Washington has greatly increased the number of attacks, just in case no has noticed.
We’ll win this terror war when we start to get serious about the nature of the enemy and treat them with the same respect we give a rabid animal.

“we sure are asking for it, again.”

It’s past children’s bedtime. We need some adults running this show.

If the Democrats put our mindset back to 9/10, don’t you think that is good? I think so. We finally got rid of the fear that the last administrator put us under. Having fear doesn’t guarantee to rid of terrorist attacks and we don’t need Homeland security (fear booster). I didn’t think we needed it because we have the CIA and the FBI. We don’t need more big government, right?

Delano, our “last administrator put us under” ? You have to be kidding. Could you please explain what you mean? Also, please correct me, but didn’t Bush share his presidency with a democratic controlled house and senate. It is funny listening to all of the dems blame bush for everything wrong and somehow forget that they had legislative control. I am not a fan our current political climate and blame almost all of the life long, power seeking, fear mongering, greedy, deceitful, pandering politicians. We need new blood and we need new rules. Term limits, spending limits, entitlement limits and taxation limits. Period…
